It is generally considered impolite to ask a guest a question, only to ambush them after they answer.
Oh i see. So we Catholics should only host and not ask, whilst allowing you guests to slander whenever opportunity arises. Okay, i get it.

While I thank you for your question about clarification, I must ask again, and ask this of everybody to not derail the thread.

Also, to answer your earlier question, no, not all churches are open all day. Some do not afford that luxury.

Point taken. On the note of the opening hours of churches, i once read that some Catholic parishes in the U.S are open 24/7 and access to churches at night will be given to parishioners with a kind of e-card to gain entry. Is this true?

I cannot vouch for that. I know that a church about 20 minutes away from me has a perpetual adoration chapel, but, it is locked at night (I’m guessing for the safety of all). It wouldn’t surprise me, though, if SOME churches were always open…in theory… I can tell you for a fact, though, that some churches are locked during the day.

steve b:
sheesh! still confusing “works of the law” and “good works”

Gal 5:

"4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait for the hope of righteousness. 6* For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love. "

i.e. faith + good works NOT works of the law. If faith isn’t working in love, i.e. doing good works, faith is DEAD!!! And it won’t justify, it won’t save, because faith is just a said faith.
I’m not confused about this Steve.

sandusky, how hard was it for you to leave the Church?
Leaving wasn’t hard at all; I was an unsaved, unregenerate pagan.

You consider it a ‘Catholic teaching’ that it was okay for you to abort a child? So you wanted to repent and get rid of the guilt by asking for His mercy - but the doors of your local parish was locked. Was that a metaphorical sentence or a literal one?
I went to the church months after the procedure took place. The doors of my parish were locked; this is not any metaphorical reference.

I eventually spoke with a priest and made my confession concerning this matter. Yes, three Our Fathers and three Hail Marys.

I was young and ignorant. It’s one of many reasons I cannot fathom the Church’s position on artificial birth control. Yes, yes, I know the arguments. I just don’t find them useful.

The OP asked, and I answered. Is that okay with you?

Mass had ended and everyone else left first. I stayed and spent my time with the Lord, truly present in the tabernacle. Eventually I had to leave and it was hard to leave because I so enjoy being in His presence!

Good news though…by God’s grace, I get to go back next week!

Wait…was this a question for Non-Catholics? 😉
Yup, I see now…I re-read the thread title! 😛
I spend time kneeling by my bed spending time in the real presence of the Lord. God has chosen me along with everyone else who believes to live inside, to tabernacle within our very being. The Most High God who made heaven and earth abides within me. I do not need to go to some chapel because God is there with me—this is the real presence of God not some false notion of God abiding in a wafer. How sad it is that a billion Catholics have been mistaught and do not know the New Covenant.

What was the straw on the camel’s back? What was it that caused you ultimately to leave the Catholic Church and how hard was it for you?
No straw on the camels back.
God lead me away. I was baptised in the Holy Ghost and pursued teaching about and to know this Spirit of God.
I could never return as the Catholic Church teaches false doctrines. The main ones are Purgatory and Marion.

Think of purgatory as God’s naughty step 👍 (copyrighted to tGette:p )

Think of the Holy Family.

Mary, the Mother of God.
Joseph, her spouse.
Jesus, the Word made flesh.

Now, you tell me, who’s the boss in that strong, pious, jewish family. You got it. Mary, the Mother 👍

Now, did Jesus love his Mother? You got it 👍

Did Jesus obey his mother? Is ANYONE going to disobey a Jewish mother  You got it 👍

Now again, Jesus told his mother at Cana that His time wasnt yet come. Think of it as a bit of a late adolescent tantrum. BUT did He, the saviour of mankind, God incarnate, disobey his mother - Dang right he didnt 👍

Catholics praying for Mary to intercede for them - I’d say that’s smart 👍

…how sad it is for one to be so ignorantly arrogant…God does not abide in any wafer but He is the bread…

mmmmm think the blood of Jesus is fully capable of cleansing us of all unrighteousness no need for a naughty step.

Think of Jesus as the only mediator between God and man, no other name under heaven is given that men should be saved.

Bless your heart, this post just made my day!

How is it arrogant to know the New Covenant.
Why do you refuse to believe?

What is arrogant is your posture that you are right and everyone else is wrong. For how long you have been on this site…you still have no understanding of Catholicism or what we believe.

We DO believe… We don’t understand why YOU refuse to believe.

I do - and you’re totally correct. His Blood saves and His Blood alone 👍
no need for a naughty step.
There is. Nothing unclean will enter Heaven. Notice ‘‘unclean’’ not condemned. If youre condemned youre going to Hell. If youre unclean, you get the naughy step.

I do. And you’re totally correct. 👍

But to Mediate is to talk to two separate people or groups involved in a disagreement to try to help them to agree or find a solution to their problems.
Saints don’t mediate.
They dont come to the sinner praying to them and say look, take the wrap for that broken window and He’ll overlook the lawnmower incident  😛

They intercede for us - they use their influence. You don’t believe that the Saints and Mary have influence
