I sure do! But I ani’t the only one. Judging by some of the posts here, many genuine Catholics do to.

Sorry to get on the fray like this, but I just couldn’t resist…

Did not Jesus say in the bible to “Love your enemy, and do good to them that persecute you.” and also “If anyone take your cloak, let him take your gown also and if any man make you go with him too?” Compare the lives of the saints as compared to the lives of the mormon heroes such as Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Joseph Smith did not die a heroic death! He was going to take some of his enemies with him, and that is a historical fact. The Saints, on the other hand, were willing to die cruel and horrible deaths for their belief in Jesus and the church he founded.

“Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it…”

John 15:
17 This I command you: love one another. 18 If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.

Zerinus: How do " You" feel about people that have left the mormon church and became Catholic?

I am going to check out the Mormon talk sites. Perhaps there are some former Catholics who are now Mormon that can only speak out against the Catholic church that have the same fixation.
You might be better off looking for such people on brain injury support forums.

I have not seen any non-Mormon Christian attack ex-Mormons the way you have.

Rebecca, Paul, Bart, Hal, et. al.- I think you folks do a terrific job of keeping people like Z and WhyMe from their proselytizing here at CA.

Note - I noticed the OP posted once then left. As someone else pointed out, troll alert!!

No, I am not a Mormon troll. I have some relatives that are members of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I am familar with their doctrines. I also used to be totally into the Seventh day Adventist church, and I thought all of you Catholics were in a one way path to judgement and condemnation. Therefore, I am also familar with the “Cult mentality” that can be present in such churches. I praise God that he showed me, by his grace, his blessed mother- THE HOLY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH…

Oh Zerinus. Enlighten me further. You again side step the issue. Why did God abandon His children for 1700 years ? It’s okay you saying that He restored things including vicarious ordinances. But why leave in the first place. I suppose he had overcome his pout after such a time.

The mormon god is made in the image of man, more like a Greek god, with all the foibles of man, including his necessity to have sex with a young woman to create Jesus.

As to ex-mormons being the only ones cheering me on. I received great charity from non-ex-mormons on this board.

As to your comments about convenience. In my weakness I do not think there is a day that doesn’t go by that I do not think that perhaps I could close my eyes, my mind, my logic and my heart and go to sleep and accept mormonism - just for some piece from the bombardment of home and family.

Zerinus, someone on this board said you were only 16. I would say that some of yopur comments betray your youth, but I see it in older mormons too. Fast & testimony meeting was full of it this Sunday. No, rather you betray your mormonism.

God bless,

Hal.
I’m not an ex mormon apostate, and I support you. I’ll pray for you, brother, that the angry attacks of this angry man will not get to you…

Or maybe he just got too disgusted with apostates and anti-Mormons to hang around! 🙂

Why can’t you find it in your heart to stop attacking these good people here at Catholic Answers? I mean, what is so good about brainwashing people? I remember being brainwashed by the Seventh day Adventists who kept telling me Exodus 20 where it says…

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy… Six days shalt thou labor and do all thy work, but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it shall you do no work, neither you nor your manservant nor you ox within your gate nor your cattle within your field. For in Six days the Lord God created the Heavens, the Earth, the Sea , and the fountain of waters, and all that is in them. But he rested on the seventh day.”

They also kept telling their flock of their end time scenario, that an international sunday law would be passed, followed by a persecution of the true sabbath keepers (Those who keep Saturday holy) It was a cult, and from what I know about them, so is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints… So please, do not bother us with your false faith. We do not need it here on these boards. And yes, I looked at your little blog. Interestingly enough, the original language that Jesus was speaking was Aramaic, and in Matthew 16:18 he used the Aramaic word Kepha both for Peter and for Rock. Therefore, the Rock that was referred to can be none under than Peter, followed by his successors through the laying on of hands and annointing of the Holy Spirit…

Congratulations, you’re on par with the street preachers who frequent the corners of SLC during your general conference.
Nay, I am on par with Jesus who said those mean things to the scribes and Pharisees (Jewish apostates)! 😃

You just don’t get it do you.

Perhaps the penny will drop this time.

Zerinus,

You strike me as someone who is grasping to the last thread of his defense. Why really do you spend so much time here? I wonder if you’re desperately trying to convince yourself that your faith of choice (or birth) is true by arguing with the one other church that claims authority.

I hope you’ll share your conversion with us someday.

And, I personally thank all the ex-mormons on this sight for their moxie and fidelity to defending the truths (and untruths) they’ve learned.

As a side note, I live in Utah Valley and I tried to get to know my mormon coworkers by asking them respectfully about what I thought was likely a false representation of their faith that I’d come across… I was disappointed when they avoided answering my questions.

And by the way, I wish one of them would invite my wife and I for dinner sometime, not out of obligation or an opportunity to “fellowship” me, but because they want to be my friend. Sadly, what we may be finding is that they have their friends (in the ward) and quickly lose interest in us when they find we are steadfast and thankful Catholics.

I was not referring to you as the troll, but the one who started this thread, Observer1. He posted once, then disappeared.
