This was insightful, where do I sign up?
That is why I just ignore themā€¦ they donā€™t try to be insightful

They try to be inciteful.

Satan is hard at workā€¦ as Bishop Sheen saidā€¦ perhaps the greatest sin of the 20th century was to teach there is no Satan, no sin, no hell.

So againā€¦ to paraphrase stories told by Fr. Corapiā€¦ they will believe in hell when they get there.

Mindy Mae:
Iā€™m interested in hearing what religions (if any) former Catholics took up after they left the Church, or what is practiced by the majority of non-Catholics with intention of converting. I was raised Methodist but have lately began seriously questioning it. After much investigation, Iā€™ve decided not to become Catholic. However, there are so many other Christian and non-Christian faiths that I donā€™t know where to go from here!
Mortimer Adler, the most influential philosopher and thinker of 20th century America, finally became a Catholic in 1999 at the age of 97.

There are only two God-made religions in the world: Judaism and Catholicism.

All Protestant denominations are built on the false premise that the Bible (as Martin Luther defined it) is the sole rule of faith and practice.

If I were not absolutely convinced of the Truth of Catholicism, Iā€™d be an orthodox Jew.

Ex-Southern Baptist, ex-agnostic, ex-atheist ā€“ by the grace of God, Catholic!

Jesus said not to cast your pearls upon the swine. They are not here to hear the Good News for they reject what the Holy Spirit has to say. Personally I believe they are here to promote their own agenda which is anti-Christ. Like I said our God is a loving and patient God. The rest is up to them.

Wiccans are far from God almighty. Keep them in our prayers that someday they may accept Godā€™s loving merciful invitation to turn away from darkness and come home to the light of Christ.

You have rejected the Church which Christ founded for the salvation of the world and substituted your own ā€œtruth,ā€ so youā€™re no different than other unbelievers. Your agenda is not Christā€™s agenda. Christ teaches through His Church.

It makes me glad when people seach for meaning, and in this I applaud you all. If you look for a God that fits your needs or perspective, you will typically find him (or her, if that floats your boat šŸ˜‰ ).

But youā€™re missing the point. As humans, we donā€™t invent the truth, we discover it. One can reason to the existence of God simply through natural law, but itā€™s just as easy to come up with screwy answers to basic questions. The truth will prevail. 2+2 = 4, and quite frankly, what you feel about it is not going to change it. If you cloud the issue with personal experience and emotional rhetoric, it changes nothing.

God call us to reach the potential he has created us for: to sacrifice the basest parts of human nature: pride (in a nutshell) for love. That is what will qualify us for heaven. Anyone can follow the rites and rituals of their chosen religion, but if we donā€™t base ourselves in love, we make ourselves incompatible with heaven, and the realization of that is hell.

Heather: youā€™re right about the threat of hell being incompatible with love, but youā€™re wrong with the connotations you add. Hell is not a punishment imposed upon us by God, itā€™s the consequence of a life willfully acting against love. Youā€™ve made the mistake of rejecting something without truly understanding it, because if you did, your arguments would have a different tone. I would humbly suggest that you read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis; itā€™s a good read. If you already own the truth, what can it hurt?

Relativism is rampant in the world.

Upon the North Pole sat a seal,
his flipper in his mouth.
Oh, dear, said he, what a crazy deal ā€“
'Cause every way is South!

Jay. It must be the Anti-Christ spirit that you discerned in me? Jesus Christ left us the Holy Spirit. That Spirit lives in me. There is only one way into the Kingdom and that is through Jesus Christ,My Lord and Savior. You might be very surprised to see non-catholics in the Kingdom of Heaven. I hope to say to you in Heaven, I knew we would be united some day. šŸ‘

Maybe so, but God is never far from them. šŸ‘

It has nothing to do with who is going to heaven. Iā€™m sure there are non-Catholics in heaven ā€“ including Hinduā€™s, Buddhistā€™s, Protestants, and others ā€“ thatā€™s the teaching of the Church (CCC 847). But no one is saved except through the Catholic Church, which Christ established for the salvation of the world. All grace flows from His Church.

But ā€“ ā€œā€¦they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in itā€ (CCC 846).

CCC = Catechism of the Catholic Church

Jay, You are speaking with forked tongue.

Katholikos:
What does this mean?
On one hand you say that there are non catholics in heaven, and that they only can be saved through the Catholic church. Well if they are saved through the Catholic Church they are no longer non-catholic but Catholic.Do I make sense?

I can see that, with all the rudeness, intolerance, and know-it-all-ism here. šŸ˜ƒ
they will believe in hell when they get there.
hmm, yea, too bad Iā€™m not going there, since it doesnā€™t exist and all. I suppose if it does though, it would prove that God as you describe him doesnā€™t exist, as an all-loving god that sends people to hell is quite contradictory. Canā€™t have both. So which do you want? An all-loving God, or hell?

Nope, as I have said serveral times, I am here to clear up misconceptions. Iā€™m not looking to gain any ā€œconvertsā€. And Iā€™m not anti-Jesus, I just donā€™t believe he was God.
Like I said our God is a loving and patient God.
So there is no hell then.

No, I feel that I have a pretty good relationship with the Divine. A lot closer than I felt with the belief that an all loving God sends people to hell - talk about contradictory.

I have rejected the Church which man founded based on Jesusā€™s teachings. and
so youā€™re no different than other unbelievers.
If you mean unbelievers in Jesusā€™s divinity, then you are correct. I donā€™t believe he was God. I still believe in the Divine, however, if thatā€™s what you are talking about.
Your agenda is not Christā€™s agenda.
You are correct on one thing.
Christ teaches through His Church.
Men teaching in the Church that men founded based on Jesusā€™s teachings.
