LifeSite news. Enough for me to disregard it.

Funny: people are willing ot believe that the Pope can be way wrong, but not random Bishops.
Perhaps that is because “people” aren’t basing their opinions about the relevant issues on whether it is a random Bishop or a select Pope making the error, but on the nature or truth of what has been said or written?

The problem may be in the way you are framing the issue as “Pope-bashing” or Bishop-bashing," rather than as: “This is an issue that impacts Church doctrine or teaching, and here is why it is (or is not) a problem.”

Why deflect from the issue itself and frame it as being about the Pope or about a Bishop?

From Edward Pentin:
Update 5 Feb. 2018:
Bishop Elmar Fischer, 81, bishop emeritus of Feldkirch, Austria, has signed the “Profession of the truth about sacramental marriage” of the bishops of Kazakhstan, bringing the total number of signatories so far to nine bishops and one cardinal. Ordained in 1961, Bishop Fischer headed the Marriage and Family Centre of the Feldkirch diocese from 1979 to 1990. After serving as vicar general of the diocese from 1989, in 2005 Benedict appointed him bishop of Felkirch where he served until 2011 when he retired on age grounds.
