I watched EWTN Live with Hitchcock as their guest. I got to say it was not very good show. You may check it out on their EWTN app.
I am wary of news articles at sources of extreme bias.Be that as it may, the matter in question seems to be genuine “news”, or do you have reason to believe fabrication or misrepresentation?
And you are welcome to your opinion. I disagree with it.I have NOT found this to be so. Yes, EWTN is pro-life, but EVERYTHING else seems to be down the middle. IMHO
It is good to be wary of news articles from sources that have let you down in the past. Of course, facts can be checked, and if confirmed, accepted.I am wary of news articles at sources of extreme bias.
So, who do you turn to then, the National Schismatic Reporter…umm, National catholic Reporter? As far as the others, I find EWTN to be the Catholic Fox News and Raymond Arroyo is a willing accomplice to the right wing propaganda machine if not a fully fledged member and most of the sites you mention (I will say I have I don’t have an opinion on Catholic World Report) along with Lifesitenews and Church Militant are the worst of televangelism brought into the Catholic world on the World Wide Web. They are garbage theology for right wing nutjobs to feel like Republicanism and Catholicism are one and the same.
Cardinal Janis Pujats, Archbishop emeritus of Riga, Latvia, has joined the five bishops in signing the “Profession of Immutable Truths about Sacramental Marriage.”
Emeritus Auxiliary Bishop Andreas Laun of Salzburg, Austria, has put his name to the Profession. Bishop Laun turned 75 in Oct. 13 last year and the Pope accepted his resignation the same day on grounds of age.
What do you mean by “Thinking they are Catholic”?KMG:![]()
It’s a pope bashing website and those that click on the link thinking they are Catholic deserve to know that. What I posted has nothing about “pope bashing,” it is about bishops making statements in defense of Catholic teaching.
Who has said that random Bishops can not be wrong?LifeSite news. Enough for me to disregard it.
Funny: people are willing ot believe that the Pope can be way wrong, but not random Bishops.
Absolutely on queue, thank you! The fact that so many Bishops are coming out like this shows us that the document is flawed. Cahpter 8 is the basic culprit and the fact that there are so many different opinions about it proves the case for confusion. What’s interesting about this and similar threads is that when bishops, archbishops and cardinals are quoted as affirming that AL isn’t going to fly, the discussion is immediately shifts to the news outlets that quote them.
Forget about Lifesite, etc. What matters is that prelates, some of them high-ranking, all of them in perfectly good standing with the Holy See, are telling the Catholic world that Amoris Laetitia’s treatment of remarried divorcees receiving Communion - the text of which was clarified by the Argentinian bishops and officially confirmed by the Pope - is in direct and irreconcilable contradiction with the definitive teaching of the Church.
That’s all that matters.
You can review the different sites and decide for yourself. For myself, I find Steve J over at Lifesitenews to have confused his politics with his religion given his unmitigated support of Roy Moore and his willingness to ban posters that disagree with him. The environment fosters pope bashing and I won’t be a part of it or take anything from the site seriously.Oh I ssee, so what do you suggest would be a good site or news channel that would give us an authentic Catholic or unbiased point of view. Please pray tell… where?
Truth is truth; it’s simple. The problem with people is that they lie to themselves and lie to others and claim it is the truth. And, if you don’t take me seriously, I’m ok with that, but then why did you respond?I don’t really care what you think of lifesite news or any other news organization. Much of what you post here I don’t really take seriously because of your attitude towards anyone who disagrees with, imho, your questionable allegiances and ideas of truth.
The thread was based on a lifesitenews article, so it’s appropriate to talk about the bias of the source of the actual article that the thread is based on.The whole thread of this thread is about the nuncios statement an that of other Bishops. If you dont like the LSN article choose one of the other articles.
I didn’t make this thread about it. I put out my opinion that the source is garbage. You questioned it by two posts and I answered you. There is plenty of room for different views on this, so you can stop with the fallacy that I’m making the thread about my prejudices against an obviously biased source. If you don’t have a opinion move on but don’t make this thread about your prejudices go make a different thread for that.
