Yes, I’m right there with you. And our Holy Father has made no statement against Medjugorje. In fact, our previous Pope John Paul II was very much in favor of pilgrimages to Medj.

The fruit of these apparitions are the conversions about which volumes have been written. The pastor of our church is one.
But, along with conversions, there needs to be a supernatural element. All of the approved Marian appearances, even dating as far back as Sta. Maria Maggiore and the miracle of the snow, had a supernatural element that was unmistakably divine in nature. As I said before, Guadalupe had roses blooming in the dead of winter. Lourdes had a miraculous spring. Fatima had the miracle of the sun. Nothing like that has ever happened at Medjugorie.

All of the approved Marian apparitions have had a cnosistent thread that has bound them, even though they are diverse in their scope, seers and locations. Prayer, a supernatural event and the building of a church have all occured. To my knowledge, none of that has happened at Medjugorie.

Now, as far as the conversions are concerned, the Lord can even use what may or may not be a true apparition to move the heart, thereby allowing some good to come out of things.

Remember, though, that public revelation ended with the death of St. John, the Apostle and Evangelist. While the Church holds a deep veneration for our Blessed Mother, belief in any apparition is not a part of the Deposit of Faith.

Praying before a cross that contains a relic of the True Cross-not many places in the world where one can do that.

A very special Church was built there.

Repentance, devotion to a prayerful life, active participation in Mass, and an ongoing dedication to and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament-I am so glad that I have answered our call to Grace.

But, inasmuch as the cross contains a relic of the True Cross, that doesn’t necessarily make it supernatural. There has to be a miracle attached to it, unless, the relic was brought over under supernatural circumstances. The relic, along with perhaps the Shroud of Turin, are physical, perhaps archeological artifacts, if you will, of our Lord.

Was the Church built as a result of a request of Mary or was it the people who went ahead and constructed it? Furthermore, what supernatural activity is attributed to Medjugorie? It seems that nothing even remotely similar to Guadalupe, Lourdes, and Fatima has occurred.

Furthermore, the only bona fide supernatural and tangible element that exists is the tilma bearing the image of Our Lady of Guadalulpe.

If you choose not to believe-that is your right and the world’s loss-our world needs the prayers of all of us.

I will not try to convince anyone whose mind is made up-I just feel it is very sad that more Catholics do not know of this great gift.

There are miracles, there are conversions, and quite frankly, the evil one does try to destroy it all-but he has been defeated, and he is a very poor loser.

God Himself is not bound by the laws of man

I would big to differ on your last statment because, as Jesus told St. Peter:

You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church…whatever you declared bound on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatever you declare loosed on earth will be loosed in heaven.

God willed His authority on Peter and his successors. That is called the Petrine ministry.

As Catholis, we are bound to obedience to Peter and his successors. If Peter declares Medjugorie to be valid, then, so be it. If Peter chooses not to declare the apparitions as true, then, we are bound by obedience.

Patience is a virtue.
