I actually used to like and watch the Simpsons–though I didn’t watch it all the time. I don’t watch it anymore, because, well, we don’t have tv receptionand after so many seasons, I doubt it’s as good
I don’t know. I think there were Simpsons that went way too far, though none jump to my mind right now. I liked All in the Family (Archie was protestant–Carol O’Connor was a Catholic). It was never vulgar. I don’t think satire and pointing out the absurdity of a situation has to be handled with vulgarity. They don’t need to push the envelope. They just need to write better.
But many people like it…so whatever…more power to them
