I guess I don’t get how the viewpoint even differs from Ryan’s. From what I can tell, Republicans claim their plan will better serve all Americans than the status quo (or any Democrats’ plan). The prayer asks that the members of the House pass a tax plan that serves all Americans. It does not take a position as to whose plan will actually better serve all Americans.
That’s why I said his objection to the prayer seems like an admission that his plan is not intended to serve all Americans…(that is the only way the prayer could be seen as taking sides, as far as I am reading it.)
