The 1st Epistle Of Saint Paul To Timothy 1:5,19 tell’s us “Against a priest receive not an accusation, but under two or three witnesses”, but nowdays it appears that one will suffice in many cases.
Yes… it seems people will be quick to assume something ‘must’ be true, instead of checking out the story. Once people start to believe a rumor, it is very hard for a person to get back his reputation. The 1st Epistle Of Saint Paul To Timothy 1:5,19 tell’s us “Against a priest receive not an accusation, but under two or three witnesses”, but nowdays it appears that one will suffice in many cases.
Ticketmaster.com is still selling them. I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens here./QUOTE]
Ticketmaster was selling them yesterday, but not today. Could they be sold out?
The Fr. Corapi Dekalb website has no updated information, nor does the Dekalb Convocation Center (where he would speak.) The event is organized by the Diocese of Rockford’s Catholic Charities, but I can’t visit their website because of a virus warning from Norton. The website of the Diocese of Rockford doesn’t seem to have any new information on this topic.
Ticket sales have been suspendedGood question. I would think administrative leave would only apply to live broadcasts or appearances, not things that are already taped and aired at a later date, but ???
The Lenten Retreat in Dekalb would probably be cancelled, you might actually find info on his website.

Wow, I just checked that site, too.The sales of tickets have been suspended
Very well said. This is a very important matter and must be fully vetted by the Church. My prayers are with all inovlved, especially those that are required to investigate this matter.I think Fr. Corapi being placed on administrative leave is just standard procedure and why shouldn’t it be? A lot of organizations like police departments do this “just in case” because the fallout of them leaving somebody in place while they are being investigated and if the charges turn out to have merit would be more damaging than preemptively removing the person. I don’t see it as a judgment of guilt on the part of his superiors. From what we know about the charges via Fr. Corapi is that a former employee accuses him of sexual impropriety. Those charges can be very serious since it include things like sexual harrassment, or improper superior/employee relations etc. Not only are these things sins and violations of his promises and vows, but they could also be illegal under civil law.
I, for one, am a little put off though by the tone of his message posted on the website. It seems to me he could’ve said so much more without having to mention the specifics of the charges and then seeming to imply that his superiors and bishops are acting inappropriately by asking him to take leave while the charges are being investigated, while hiding behind opinions of canon lawyers and other experts. In this scandal-ridden era the charges against him deserve to be investigated fully and shouldn’t be ignored or written off just because they don’t involve children.
I just hope and pray that these allegations are proven false. He’s a wonderful speaker and his messages have always been inspiring and full of wisdom.

I agree with every word you said. EWTN Religious catalogue has removed everything of his. I have his Triduum dvd set. I love it. I have some other works that he has recorded.I don’t understand why his pre-approved/pre-recorded material is now being treated as scandalous material. I under they are taking precautions “just in case” but I personally feel that this is sending the wrong message. A message that states that somehow the truth can’t be preached or even trusted if you “happen” to be a sinner later on. Notice the word “happen” to be. The assumption of him will now forever be distorted and it goes to show that you can’t be a saint if you happen to be a sinner. It’s amazing how fast everyone turns their backs on him. Sure it’s the politically correct thing to do but how embarrassing if this really is indeed false as Fr. Corapi states. It really makes a person wonder about trusting any person/priest. Guilty until proven innocent type of attitude. It’s hard to trust priests with this type of mentality towards them. It’s exactly what’s going on here in the Catholic Church. All of his work he’s ever done is now considered somehow wrong according to the higher ups in the CC. I don’t know what will come of this but it seems it will take a really long time to ever clear his name and by that time it won’t even matter. I’m just glad he had the years to do what he did for the Catholic Church regardless if he feel into sin. I’m sure he knows where the confessional is at and I’m sure we will all be in heaven one day talking about how we don’t trust him 100 percent…
Do you have any evidence that anyone is taking action based on an uncharitable motivation, or is this just speculation on your part?I don’t understand why his pre-approved/pre-recorded material is now being treated as scandalous material. Perhaps we would do well to take the advice of the Gospel and not assume the purging was done as an imputation of guilt to the accused, but rather as a matter of respect for the gravity of the situation as a whole. The purging of everything troubles me, esp since this only at the investigative stage. No conclusions have been made.
I cant assume that its a matter of respect for the situation either.Perhaps we would do well to take the advice of the Gospel and not assume the purging was done as an imputation of guilt to the accused, but rather as a matter of respect for the gravity of the situation as a whole.
I’ve had this thought too. No criminal act is alledged. Sin isHe isn’t accused of anything illegal. Even if it is true, is there really any reason to make this public? I had always assumed that if a priest had committed the sin of fornication it would be handled privately.
If you are willing to charitably give one brother the benefit of the doubt, why apply a different standard to another?I cant assume that its a matter of respect for the situation either.
