Well, everybody, I thinks it’s about time we leave the poor man alone. He’s committed no crimes. I could show you many more practicing Catholics that have and still do much worst things. Leave the poor guy alone.

Confession is always available, thanks be to God. We simply need to call our parish or the neighboring one to make an appointment. However, I don’t think people trying to understand and make connections is sinful. Those who are more skilled at research, and who bring in new, *substantiated *information are helpful. Certainly wondering whether to buy new or old materials by Fr Corpai is not sinful.

I keep praying that the allegations of Fr. Corapi are not true. He has been a great mentor for me coming into the Catholic faith, but today I was given his information which saddens my heart. Fr. Corapi needs our prayers more than ever.

SOLT’s statement about Corapi:
soltnews.blogspot.com/2011/07…hn-corapi.html

Corapi was awarded $2,712,281 USD for his role as a whistleblower in the False Claims Act Lawsuit as well as the $500,000 USD he and his friend were awarded for the insurance case they filed.

Much leaping and speculating here…Lord have mercy! Confessions are on Sat…😦
There’s nothing holding Corapi back from telling us what is what, so while wild speculation is not very helpful, people have to “talk” somewhat (isn’t that what forum boards are for?) because it doesn’t make any sense why an awesome Catholic preacher would leave the Eucharist behind (not to mention he doesn’t mention Mary AT ALL anymore), and go off to be a black sheep dog. confusing

And Confession is always good, as you suggest; always … so is daily Mass, Rosary recitation, fasting, Adoration, etc. and so on …

People have been banned for a lot less…I have on the forums for a very, very long time…

We are talking about a priest here. Why not just pray?

Some of us still want to talk about it for a variety of reasons, some charitable, some not, some to work through their distress and some just now learning about it all. If we cross the line, this thread has moderators. Probably one of the most moderated board I’ve ever been on, and I’ve joined and visited a lot of them!

If anyone doesn’t want to discuss this, or feels it unseemly, or thinks its beating a dead horse is free to chat on any of the other threads. There’s a lot of them out there. Going on and on and on about how wrong it is to keep discussing The Black SheepDog, or accuse the rest of us of sinning, uncharitable thoughts, hating, or what not is just as much beating a dead horse as what they are accusing the rest of us for doing.

Trust me…I will be around. If I can reach one person in seeing how wrong this is, it will be worth it. And to put it more frankly, one is not beating a dead horse so much as beating the Body of Christ. His Passion never ends…and this is part of it as we speak. Criticizing a priest is criticizing Christ. I do not want that on my soul…no matter how intellectually adept one is.

Shoshana, for what it’s worth, John Corapi has always had a strong prayer partner in you. Your support is evident in every thread on these boards that mentions his name, and you have never once failed to find an explanation that favors him for every question asked. I hope that your prayers help to bring him back to his senses. But I beg to differ with you that stating the facts in this case–or asking questions about them–constitutes either sinful speculation or behavior worthy of closing down a thread. If this thread is closed down because discussion is occurring, then this is not a discussion board.

I strongly disagree with your implication that no priest’s actions may ever be justly questioned or criticized (certainly not a proposition applied to countless priests and bishops discussed on these boards), and your need to tell others what their sins are, but I am not asking this thread to be shut down or you to go to confession over it. No one is asking you to participate in what you consider to be sinful, so for your own spiritual peace it might be better for you to stick to the Facebook pages that refuse to allow anything but unequivocal support of Fr Corapi, no matter what the facts demonstrate.

And in case everyone thinks there are no new developments, it should be noted that the FatherCorapi.com webpage no longer exists. Where there was once at least a semblance of mission, complete with the Pieta and free online interactive Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy, we now find this:

**Store Is Closed

After many years, the end of our time has come and this website for Santa Cruz Media has been shut down.

If you had placed an order this this website before 5:00pm EST on Monday, July 25, 2011, then rest assured that we will process and ship your order promptly. If you have questions about a previous order, we welcome you to contact us at 406-545-2222 or CustomerService@fathercorapi.com with any concerns.

Thank you for your years of support. May God continue to bless you and keep you.

Santa Cruz Media. **

Well, at least they have the grace to admit it was just a store. The prayers and Pieta have not, of course, moved “onward” to the BSD’s page.

Indeed, and I’m not surprised. The love he had for Our Blessed Mother was, in part, why so many tuned in to his message. And now it seems he has left her out with yesterday’s trash. I noticed he links to his Facebook fan page, and it’s the one that’s been going on since his name changeover, but thankfully, thankfully, he’s gotten rid of that horrible icon. Does anyone know who owns this page, which is titled John Corapi? They have a “vanity” URL which is very easy to get once you have 25 “likes” and the URL you want is available, but because of this, it seems more professional.

Anyway, I like the continuation of discussion at this thread (even though I came late to it), as this story will go on and on for some time is my guess, and people have to be consoled somehow if they so desire … I had one woman write me and she said that she hadn’t slept for days (and she was quite serious), because she was so upset over the situation, so it’s nice to have a place to air out thoughts, etc.

I think the reason interest which has waned a lot, still chugs along a bit, is because so much was given and so many haven’t heard it all. I saw a blog where a gentleman chastised someone because he wasn’t showing empathy for Father’s cancer…he must have read about his tumor years ago and thought that was why he looked that way.
I was surprised some didn’t hear about SOLT’s charges and thought it was still status-quo from March. Maybe not on the Internet a lot, not a bad thing. 😉

I wouldn’t buy his material, but it’s a free world. For many, they had doubts, and this just cemented it. Others, no matter what, they will only see what they want to see. I’m sure there is a load of grey.

If you have moral failings, and don’t we all in mind or action or both, it’s embarassing to have it online but it’s a part of being in the public eye. If you believe Father C for most of his priesthood, lived the way SOLT stated, had women, didn’t participate in any sacraments, (which is what St.Francis wanted from the priest)was mainly a businessman, than some would have a good reason to not fund his bank accounts any more. To say, live this way and not do it, isn’t acceptable as a priest. To fail is human but if you believe he did and didn’t change, then saying what the church teaches falls flat. If you arent an example, then, why listen? Others say the truth, he wasn’t the only one.
If you believe everyone is lieing, what someone does with their money is their business. But Father is selling his voice now, his words, that just alone doesn’t seem right. He has tons of prayers, rosaries, etc. coming his way, although he doesn’t mention Mary anymore and rarely Jesus…he just says “pray”. I find that odd but it probably has many reasons, but that void is noticed by many. That’ by itself is a reason to pray more.
I wish I could go to EWTN’s celebration, which is free, they proabably would never come to the North East, too “liberal” but I hope they come closer than Alabama one day. You can support yourself but don’t make everything a sell.
I realized by this, as I have said earlier, with all the prayers for him and other priests, I took for granted in a sense how nice our priest is, how faithful and I pray he and others like him are supported and thanked. We thank parents, teachers, friends, how many times do we thank a priest?

Yes, there are some changes at Facebook, too. The Fr Corapi Facebook page disappeared about an hour after the website. The new Black SheepDog page (which is a “fan” page) now has the John Corapi Is The Black SheepDog graphic instead of the wolf eye, perhaps in response to fans’ dislike of it. And after one of the detractors questioned why the only other FB page The Black SheepDog “liked” is the personal page of a high school boy, I notice there’s been a “like” added for, of all things, S.O.L.T.! (Just a name page, not the Society’s official Facebook page.) I wonder if anybody over there–which would seem to be John Corapi and Justin Meccia–is thinking at all.

The new Facebook page you provided the link for is purportedly John Corapi’s own personal Facebook page. You have to request that he friend you to post on that page. I suspect (based on logic, not detraction!) that it’s also being run by Justin Meccia. It has the same graphic for a profile picture as the TBSD Facebook page.

I am wondering whether there will be some attempt to ask those posting on these new pages to tone down the use of Father and the very specific Catholic references. Otherwise, I am not sure why he would have taken down the old Father Corapi page.

And that good fruit is one reason to keep this discussion going.

We do pray, Shoshana, in fact that’s the most favorite part of my day; the 90 minutes in the morning that includes walking our dogs to and from Church, attending Mass, and reciting the Rosary and several novenas on our way there and back. I still, however, like to talk with like-minded individuals during the day, and I can tell you that if my B-I-L (an orthodox RC priest of the finest variety) ever came over to our house and kicked our dog, I don’t care if he’s a priest or not, he’d be hearing from me. While Corapi hasn’t kicked our dog, he instead IS a dog now and he’s bitten (or at least growled) at many of his former or current fans, just by being so secretive and disobedient. So people talk about him; it’s normal IMO.

Pray (and suffer) for the Father; shun the dog.

Not enuf time to read all the 66 pages. Has SOLT or Mr. Corapi provided any updates … since mid-July ?

Refer me to thread post # … if any references have been referenced in last week.

The only updates, such as they are, is that Father Corapi’s original web sites and FaceBook pages have been shut down, and the only thing left is the black sheep dog thingy. 🤷

Unless Fr. Corapi aka The Black Sheepdog drops his lawsuit against the woman who contacted S.O.L.T., there can be no forward progress. He has stopped any further investigation which might clear him of all accusations. So far, he has expressed no desire to return to SOLT or to drop the lawsuit. He said he is “drawing a line in the sand,” which is another odd expression considering what has happened…usually you draw a line in the sand for someone you consider an adversary, which in this case would be the Bishops I suppose.

No further news except his website is shut down, and here is his letter to us.

My Dear Friends,

For twenty years I tried to impart the Catholic and Christian Faith through preaching and teaching the Word of God as a Catholic priest. That era of my life is sadly ended, but rather than** lie down and die**, I have made a decision to continue doing what I can to inspire, teach, and give hope to the people living in a time in history much in need of it.

We are moving into a new era, the era of The Black Sheep Dog — which you will be able to find at www.theblacksheepdog.us and on our Facebook page: The Black Sheep Dog. We hope that you will follow me to our new meeting place. All updates, information on my book, “The Black Sheep Dog,” radio broadcasts, etc. will be at the new locations.

I am thankful for every one of you; for your kindness, your prayers, and your understanding. I hope that we can meet again in new places and together move on toward fulfilling our mission. God bless you, God love you, and goodbye for now.

John Corapi
The Black Sheep Dog

Always with the “lie down and die” expression. It is beyond belief how many times he repeats it. Every time he speaks or writes, he uses some variation of that expression. It really makes me wonder if his health is in question.

Thanks J_Katherine; you’re better at figuring things out regarding Facebook. I’m sort of a newbie. 🙂

Simce he already signed off on his last letter as,
Code:

it seems clear he wishes to take on a new identity.
