I don’t know anything about his order and what they are typically ‘assigned to’ (parishes, missions, missionary work ,etc.) but I would dare say that Fr Corapi, by the work he does and how he does it, is able to reach millions and share authentic Catholicism. He’s on fire for God and the Church and although I’d love to have him as a pastor and hear a homily each week, I think he’s serving the kingdom in a way that is desperately needed right now.

In my bible study class last week I mentioned that it may be more than coincidence that at a time when our Church is being hit hard - the priest scandal, shortage of priests, unorthodoxy abounding in many areas of the country and the world by both religious and lay people - we are also being blessed with some of the most gifted, outspoken, and orthodox Catholics we’ve seen in a long time (many of them converts by the way)…Scott Hahn, Tim Staples, Jimmy Akin, Rosalind Moss, Fr. Corapi, David Currie, Tim Gray, Jeff Cavins, etc. I don’t know God’s plan, but I can’t help but think we’re seeing it slowly unfold, and that He’s assuring us the gates of hell will not prevail.
I’ve been thinking the very same thing. God is speaking to us - His Catholic Church - start listening, people.

We should listen big time. I was blessed again to listen to Fr Groeschel last week-end and he said some of the same things that Fr John Corapi also! We MUST listen…

Father Corapi opens his mouth and the Holy Spirit speaks.

One time, Father complained that people come up to him and ask him for all kinds of advice. He replied that his charism is to PREACH. That’s all he can do is PREACH. He doesn’t have a degree in counseling or an MBA.

Sometimes I get the feeling that Father Corapi is as mystified at the whole process as we are. But he stands there, allows himself to be used, and just opens his mouth and out comes the words of the Holy Spirit.

Amazing.

[One day I was in a meeting at church and I said that my favorite home-made prayer was “Lord, carry me. Hold me in Your arms, forgive me my sins and make me the way You want me to be.”

And someone else in the room had a “gut” visceral, instant reaction… “Nooooooo.!!” I thought it was kind of “amusing” in a scary sort of way… I guess some folks don’t want to be used by God.

John Corapi re-formed his life after it fell apart and he allowed God to remake him the way God wanted him to be. So, he got ordained as a priest in a religious order taking vows, and he stands there, opens his mouth, and the words of the Holy Spirit pour forth.]

You are right! Although I think he said he did have degrees. He went to a University in Spain, could barely speak Spanish as he was only learning for a month and they asked him to orally present his thesis for his MA! In Spanish! He opened his mouth, the Spirit took over. Anyway, I thought I would share his talks I went to in September in Buffalo:

Hi everyone! I was so blessed to experience Father John Corapi! What a holy man, what a prophet! I am sure he boomed in everyone’s heart for what was said. What shocked me though, he had to have bodyguards there (and anywhere else he goes) because he always has death threats. When he signed my merchandise, there was this big burley fellow watching over him. He has 5 of them!

There was much prayer and eveything else. I got to meet up with Jen. She is as beautiful as I thought she was. It was a strange feeling in one way to meet up with someone you have never seen and yet, you know and feel that we are family!

Anyway, here are the notes I promised. I did the best I could do…without ever having to learn shorthand!

Father John Corapi conference Friday, Sept 9, 2005
  • He stretched out His arms as a baby to Mary and Joseph, to the world. He did it again on the cross out of love.
  • It grieves me very much to see what is going on today.
  • We are seeing in living color the price of sin.
  • You cannot spit in God’s face and get away with it.
  • Actions have consequences.
  • God chose to send His very Son He loves to perfect Him, to purify Him, to bring him closer to Himself.
  • The world pays a price for infidelity.
  • We have evicted God in society, in schools, and in government.
  • The Catholic Church is very sick in Her members.
  • Behind all the physical evil, there is moral evil. Sin.
  • The world has a death wish and it needs Life Himself. The human mind is made for Truth.
  • Jesus is the antidote for this death wish.
  • These are troubled times.
  • The arrogance of the US—there will be abject poverty after many calamities.
  • Many, hopefully, will come to the Truth through trials.
  • God is tempering us, purifying us.
  • The violent take the kingdom of heaven spiritually. We must do violence to one self. No to sin/yes to grace.
  • Pray the rosary every day.
  • There is always time with God, We can change the course of time.

· Be simple and humble.

· Mary is a short cut to Jesus.

· I am redeemed but I’ll be saved when I get there.

· Saying the Rosary is a :vocal prayer

:a meditative prayer

: a contemplative prayer.

· We pray the rosary because we love the Gospel.

· Bring your life into those mysteries.

· Praying the rosary is praying to Jesus—you internalize Him.

· Ask God to give you the grace to love Mary.

· Jesus does not want His mother to be insulted.

· When Mary speaks, God listens.

· Love your mother because she loves you.

· Pain can be instructive if redeemed.

· Pain sometimes is sent by God.

Raymond Arroyeo speaking on Mother Angelica.

· Mother Angelica has a theology of risk.

· Do the ridiculous so God can do the miraculous.

· Mother Angelica—mother of Catholic Radio

· It’s doing nothing when you’re afraid, that is the problem.

· Mimic her holy recklessness.

Father Corapi:
  • There is only one Priest, Jesus Christ. A priest enters into His priesthood.
  • He enters into Calvary and makes it present.
  • You don’t advance unless you get it right.
  • The priest performs the Sacrifice at Mass. He is taken up in Christ as sacrifice.
  • Gift of celibacy breathes spiritual life into the Body of Christ.
  • Priests should be transparent.
  • With every gift, there is a commensurate responsibility.
  • Power of the Eucharist will effect unity.
  • All the errors of the world is the priests’ fault…if they are holy, the world is holy. We will not have protection from evil.
  • So the priests, so the world.
  • No priest, no Eucharist.

i would love to see him when he comes to illinois in march. I’m really diving into Fr. Corapi, Archbishop Fulton Sheen and Fr. Larry Richards right now. They have truly inspired me as a Catholic. If you havent heard or read about them yet go do so. got it get it good!
I was at a Marian Conference where Fr. Larry Richards followed Fr. Pablo Straub and Fr. Corapi. Fr. Larry began by joking about how tough it was to follow those two. The joke got a roar and from that point on it only got louder throughout his lecture.

What a line-up that day – Straub/Corapi/Richards…

A friend of mine went to see Fr. Corapi in Seattle last February. I was unable to go with her, but she lent me the CD’s from the talk. If I had only known what I was missing! Now I check his website frequently for when he might be coming close enough to attend a lecture. He is very holy, and a wonderful messenger of the faith.

DEATH THREATS!!!? Whatever for? Or just crazy people who go after anyone well known?
Katy:

Fr. Corapi has been on the offensive in a Spiritual War against the Devil, who really doesn’t like that.

When the Devil doesn’t like something, he finds a way to go after the person who’s doing it to him. In the case of Fr. Corapi, it’s threats of violence against him and possibly his brothers.

Fr. Corapi is engaged in a Spiritual Warfare against an enenmy who can also do some nasty things physically.

That’s where the death threats come from.

In Christ, Michael

I’ve never been able to go to any of his missions in person. Sometime back, he had one in North KCMO. I had asked my mom about her helping me go there. But she refused to go that far for it, and i couldn’t afford the amount to get in anyway.

I do have his personal testimony tape, it’s quite powerful. Someday I want to get his Easter Triduum tape. Other than that, I think he has alot of other tapes out as well. For awhile the Leaflet Missal catalog had a listing of something like 24 or 26 of them. If they are anything like the one I have, they’d be great to have!!
The Easter Triduum talks are available to download for free from

as well are the “Teachings of Jesus” talks

They are great!!!

I do not know if some o fyou about St Luke’s Mission in Buffalo but when I went to go see Fr Groeschel, Amy (the foundress and partner with another man) spoke quite passionatly. And she shared that it was through Fr John Corapi’s words that she felt impelled to start St Luke’s Mission. It is thriving and the Lord is providing for all the needs of the poor!

Of course Father John Corapi’s words were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
When I was in a very difficult situation and very far from home I needed some solid advice. I wrote my pastor and bishop back home but with no response. Finally I wrote Fr. Corapi and he responded with solid words of wisdom. The fruits of his work in my life reach well beyond my view…

The true beauty is that with modern technology, including the Internet, those of us who live far away from these dynamic teachers can have access to them as well.

fr. corapi is the best -he’s got a great voice too. i like when he says “forever” on ewtn. he’s like fulton sheen for the zeros. anyways, is it true that he’s not allowed to preach in the diocese of sacramento or in any other diocese?

Fr John is a modern-day St Paul…if it was allowed in today’s society, they would behead him for all that he says…which is Truth. I thank God for such a great gift as he is, and blessed are you americans in having such a holy priest! :clapping:

Niavete, I suppose, but who is so outraged by Fr.Corapi that he needs bodyguards, etc.? I am not arguing that he does need them, but can’t understand that much animosity for a loyal priest.

Assuredly, the animosity does not come from those who appreciate his loyalty to the Church. I am sure his message gets heard by many who do not follow the Faith so honestly, or work contrary to it.

Why did Pope John Paul II need an encapsulated, bullet-proof vehicle?

If the shepherd is struck down, the sheep scatter and are easy prey. That is how evil inflicts the most damage. Good versus evil is not just cliche or fantasy. It is very real. Coincidentally, this is a major theme of many of Father Corapi’s talks. It is no surprise that he is a prime target.

I don’t beleve that is an accurate assessment – I do know that recently when I heard him speak on his program, he did mention that his messages were not always welcome, that he would continue to preach regardless of the “woolly” truths some would like and that included some bishops. So I did gather that “some” bishops may have objected to his message. That didn’t surprise me one bit – and as long as men like Fr. Corapi are around – the church is indeed in good hands.

I have seen only one of his bodyguards, and he was a big burley man…standing behind Fr John and he was keeping his eye on me as I spoke to Father and to have him sign something. There is no doubt that he kept his eyes on anyone who came near the good Father. What shocked me that these threats( there were 3) happened at a conference I was at!

His first lecture Friday evening was the most challenging!
