This is a false belief. We believe that church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The LDS Church wasn’t founded by Jesus but by Joseph Smith.
This is a false belief. We believe that church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
HUH??? That statement makes no sense. It also means that they will receive greater blessings when they are faithful.
We beg to differ. This is a false belief.
The LDS Church wasn’t founded by Jesus but by Joseph Smith.
Ralph will understand.HUH??? That statement makes no sense.
And how does it trace it’s origins back to Peter and the Apostles and at what point did the Catholic church become invalid? No.

It is the flip of the parable: he who was given much and was faithful was rewarded.Ralph will understand.

The authority was restored to the LDS Church by revelation and ministration of angels. And how does it trace it’s origins back to Peter and the Apostles . . .
See here.. . . and at what point did the Catholic church become invalid?
Did your brain go into melt-down as you were second-guessing zerinus? Really? It is the flip of the parable: he who was given much and was faithful was rewarded.
I would guess that zerinus was kindly pointing out that we are apostate as well. Much was given to the early church and they squandered it.
That would be because the Word of Jesus failed? The authority was restored to the LDS Church by revelation and ministration of angels.

If you read the rest of my post you will know. That would be because the Word of Jesus failed?
Fascinating - or something like that.
If it had to be RESTORED, then that implies that it was lost in the first place but it couldn’t have been lost because Jesus promised that the “gates of hell” and the “power of death” would not overcome it – meaning that it could not go astray. The authority was restored to the LDS Church by revelation and ministration of angels.
It doesn’t say. It just says that it happened over a period of time but as I said above, if it did happen, then that would mean that Jesus lied to us.
The Blog post I had given you does answer that question. You did not read it carefully enough. If it had to be RESTORED, then that implies that it was lost in the first place but it couldn’t have been lost because Jesus promised that the “gates of hell” and the “power of death” would not overcome it – meaning that it could not go astray.
The entire LDS religion is based on the belief that Jesus FAILED to keep that promise. And if that is the case, why bother believing anything else that God says – if one promise COULD be false, so could other promises.
How does the LDS reconcile that?
It does, you did not read it carefully enough. See above. If you read to the end of the article, the last two objections I had answered, Objections 6 and 7, address your specific question. These two posts also partly addresses your question. It doesn’t say. It just says that it happened over a period of time but as I said above, if it did happen, then that would mean that Jesus lied to us.
See above. As a Catholic, I am not willing to accept that but in order to accept their faith, that is exactly what Mormons HAVE TO accept – otherwise there would be no reason why the Catholic faith was the one true church established by Christ.
**Sir Knight - exactly! You said it all so well.If it had to be RESTORED, then that implies that it was lost in the first place but it couldn’t have been lost because Jesus promised that the “gates of hell” and the “power of death” would not overcome it – meaning that it could not go astray.

Welcome to my fellow Alabamian. I have been saying that (Masons = Klan in Alabama) for days!!!Two things:
- I’m also from Alabama and the Masons there are definitely 80% Klansmen or descendants of Klansmen
- Sir Knight, you definitely stated the major problem in the LDS church beliefs
… and in Chicago, masonry might as well be KlanWelcome to my fellow Alabamian. I have been saying that (Masons = Klan in Alabama) for days!!!
Where are you from?
Mobile…yourself?Welcome to my fellow Alabamian. I have been saying that (Masons = Klan in Alabama) for days!!!
Where are you from?
Near Birmingham. I live in Moody (just east), but I grew up in Trussville.Mobile…yourself?
And this link explains why the points made in your link are incorrect. The Blog post I had given you does answer that question. You did not read it carefully enough.

See above.
I saw nothing in that article that refutes anything I had said. I only saw in it blatant falsehood about what Mormons believe. That is the best that Catholic Answers can do.And this link explains why the points made in your link are incorrect.
