Why? Is English your first language? Or do you think the angels wouldn’t understand your Arabic? Or does English have greater appeal to your “soul religion?”
I will use English because I would answer “God The Most High” NOT “Allah”, because as I have explained in this (thread) that until now I’m not sure whether the name “Allah” means “God The Most High” or not.
What is a soul religion? What is a flesh religion? How can they be different? Is not the body simply a reflection of the heart? It is.
Well, you asked me “Do you believe that if you were to die now”, and that it is my answer for now because I’m in a dilemma, but maybe later on it would be a different answer.

He did :). As to your condition as a Saudi, or living in SA, let God manage it…regarding baptism, you get the معمودية الشوقyour heart comes first

What, you don’t think you’re going to be held accountable for what you believed? I believe in God, and I believe His Messenger was telling the truth when he described this.

Why, have you?

Why do you assume that they only ask because God didn’t know?

I think the angels know what God tells them or lets them know.

It will not be possible to lie, at that point. If the answers aren’t correct, the person who will be informed of such is the person in the grave.

I don’t think so. I do think that your questioning is an insult to me and my faith, however.
Dear Sister,

First, everyone is accountable for what he/she has done, but such questioning is irrelevant since the questioner has already know the answer. You don’t get my point anyway. By such questioning, I begin to think that your God and your Messenger of God tell you that there will be another chance of hearing before you will be held responsible to whatever you are doing while you are still living.

Second, I believe that God did not intend to put anybody to hell. That is why I don’t believe that God created hell. It will be the people themselves who freely not choosing God, and will be far away from God, and that is hell already. So, If God does not create hell, God will not tell a very descriptive story of hell, just like a father telling scary story to the children by means of educating them.

Third, I see that you are some sort of easily offended person. If I tell scary story for my children by means of educating them, what is wrong with that? If Muhammad use the same method to educate the followers who happened to be uneducated at that time, why is it an insult? I ask this question to you as an educated adult, living in the western country, about using such method of education. Will it still apply to you? Do you still need that method of educational approach from your spiritual leader? I wonder.

So don’t believe in it if you don’t want to, if you think it’s irrelevant.

[/quote]That’s nice for you. Maybe you should explain that to the rest of Christianity and see if they buy it. I don’t.

You’re assuming it was an approach, which unfortunately doesn’t make sense because Muhammad’s followers weren’t your children, but they were adults who were instructed that they needed to believe in these teachings.

It makes no nevermind to me whether or not you believe in what I’ve said. So long as I’ve said it, and then you can reckon with God over what was truth.

Dear Sister Amy,

How are you so sure that the angel of God will ask such questions. Have you ever been dead, asked such questions, but being lucky that the angel kicked you back to this world to be alive again? Why should the angels ask such questions anyway since He already knows the answers. Do you think the angels do not know how people behave in the world when he/she still living? Or perhaps, by asking such questions, do you think the people can still deceive the angels by giving false answers? Perhaps you can tell these questions to children, so they are scared away and becoming diligence in praying. That kind of questioning is an insult to the angels, don’t you know?
Exactly. Angels don’t ask those questions and they have no reason to do so. They know already 🙂 Holy angels are there to give messages, not to ask for one to give them messages 👍

Another false Islamic belief.

Peace…

Dear Mystic Warrior,

You are correct. If we can sum up what Sister Amy believe, if Muhammad got the revelation in 21st century and wrote Quran using visual effect, then the Quran would be full of Horror movie portraiting the scary angel of God (Geez, how come an angel of God is scary???) threathening people with their fiery eyes, etc. Even my Hajj grandpa never said that the angel of God is scary. I remember when I asked him once, and he told me the angel of God is friendly. That should reconcile what was seen by Muhammad when the supposed to be angel of Gabriel talked to him. Otherwise, how can we differentiate between the angel of God and the Iblees? I just can’t imagine that an educated adult living in the western country ever believe in such method of teaching. She makes me wonder, how the angel of Gabriel seen by Muhammad? Actually I believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, only those wrong doings made Islam got the bad image. But, it seems that Sister Amy convinced me that Islam is full of threats. I rather would like to dismiss any verses of Quran talking about Jihad, or killing the infidels etc. But if what is left over is still full of threatening verses, will there be anything left for peaceful teaching?

Would it be a surprise that Muhammad paraphrased an apocrypha and called it the word of Allah? no, it wouldn’t be the first time. Here is the apocrypha:

And I (iblees) answered, ‘I have no (need) to worship Adam.’ And since Michael kept urging me to worship, I said to him, ‘Why dost thou urge me? I will not worship an inferior and younger being (than I). I am his senior in the Creation, before he was made was I already made. It is his duty to worship me.’

To know about angels questioning humans, all we got to do is search some apocrypha and gnostic texts.😉

Sam_777,

Hope you find the way, here are some people that faced the same dilemma :

This is just rude. For one thing, there is more than one angel, and I wasn’t referring to Gabriel. Gabriel isn’t the only angel in Islam–there are very many known, and even more who are unknown. I am not familiar with descriptions of any of the angels except for Gabriel on two occasions–once when he appeared to Muhammad with wings, and as he appeared to Muhammad’s companions, as a man. And “scary” isn’t it.

So it seems to me that you’re making stuff up about Islam and saying that I believe it, which is a childish approach that nobody here should fall for–though I can only wish they were so astute.

Do you believe that an angel will not enter a room if there’s a picture or a dog there??

Let me give you the same response that Abu Bakr gave when confronted about Muhammad’s claim of the night journey and ascension.

“If he (that is, Muhammad) said it, then I believe it.”

So you believe whatever Muhammad claimed, whether it makes sense or not?

In matters of faith–sure. Don’t you believe whatever the Pope says, especially as regards the religion?

If something doesn’t make sense, there are a few possibilities.
  1. First, it’s weak. Many strange narrations we have today are actually weak–possibly fabricated. I shouldn’t have to believe in something that someone made up and attributed to Muhammad, and I don’t.
  2. Secondly, bad transmission–someone might have changed the wording slightly to make it seems strange.
  3. Thirdly, bad translation–sometimes metaphors and idioms don’t translate well, and sometimes people choose a word with an incorrect or inappropriate connotation.
  4. Fourthly, that I just don’t understand it, based on a weakness in my own understanding.

Let’s remember our charity folks. Snide remarks and mocking tone is not appreciated.

God bless-

There can be a lot of fatwas over a dogmatic issue, you just choose one that fulfills your desires and hopes

Just like a game, whilst RCC has just one body, and one doctrine that is unchanged for centuries. Therefore what the Roman Pontiff says is nothing new when it speaks out of ex cathedra, because they are ancient teachings

We don’t make games with doctrines, dogmas or magisterium, mainly with the souls
  1. First, it’s weak. Many strange narrations we have today are actually weak–possibly fabricated. I shouldn’t have to believe in something that someone made up and attributed to Muhammad, and I don’t.
all the sources of Islam are weak,

what remains and are visible are all that bizarre, gnostic and heretics teachings that can be rooted to the earlier centuries

This we can evaluate and therefore reject them as they were at the beginning either by Jews and by Christians

That’s why all that hate in the quran medina verses, it outraged Muhammad
  1. Secondly, bad transmission–someone might have changed the wording slightly to make it seems strange.
The Hadiths were compiled 200 years after the events, it’s normal
  1. Thirdly, bad translation–sometimes metaphors and idioms don’t translate well, and sometimes people choose a word with an incorrect or inappropriate connotation.
Agree, there is also bas translations of the bible
  1. Fourthly, that I just don’t understand it, based on a weakness in my own understanding.
Take your gadgets and live in Saudi Arabia, you will not resist 2 months

No offense but Vickie was talking about hadith–not fatwas. Wasn’t she?
all the sources of Islam are weak,
Excuse me? I was referring to a technical classification.

I’m discussing with muslims for a long time in several foruns, I was stunned when I saw a lot of poor people with problems asking :
  • please, give me a hadith on this; give me a hadith on that
  • how to do this, or how to do that
There is always different answers, meaningless to the hunger soul

For the soul there is no relief , you will find that one day…
Excuse me? I was referring to a technical classification.
I gave also a technical classification of Islam Dogmas - a mess
