Well then apparently that definition is wrong. Because we have a very healthy sex life, thank you.By definition all who use contraception have objectively an unhealthy sex life.

AACK!!! Your Priest told you to use condoms? Debora123, with all due respect to your Priest, he has instructed you poorly and has misled you if he has indeed told you to do that. If this is indeed the case, I dare say that a Priest that condones the use of contraceptives is veering toward a more liberal mentality that is contrary to the Church.…After much prayer, discernment, and even the blessing of my Jesuit priest, we decided to follow our consciences and use condoms on my fertile days.
For women like me, who just got married, who needs to work 5 days a week, who’s husband works 60 hours a week trying to build flight time so that he can someday be a decently paid pilot, and who honestly can’t see herself having more than 3 kids, NFP is (our would be) a way of life. (Not to mention the women in my family tend to be extremely fertile.)

Ok…I’m not sure why abstaining during NFP would preclude any of what you wrote.Passionate, connecting, liberating, and physically and/or emotionally satisfying. Helps our marriage and allows us to become one physically and spiritually. Makes us happy because we know we made the other person feel loved and happy by giving them the gift of ourselves and renewing our wedding vows.
I’m glad it works for you.I didn’t say you did.
But NFP will be my reality until menopause, so not neccessarily a short term prospect.
What would be very easy to do is to get a tubal ligation, pregnancy for me has the actual risk of losing a baby.
I don’t want ease though, I want to obey the Church.![]()
Nope it is spot on.Well then apparently that definition is wrong. Because we have a very healthy sex life, thank you.
Very good quote…is it from “Theology of the Body?”" In the conjugal act it is not licit to separate the unitive aspect from the procreative aspect, because both the one and the other pertain to the intimate truth of the conjugal act. The one is activated together with the other and in a certain sense the one by means of the other. Therefore, in such a case the conjugal act, deprived of its interior truth because it is artificially deprived of its procreative capacity,** ceases also to be an act of love.**"
~ Bl. Pope John Paul II General Audience, August 22, 1984 (emphasis added)
The Pope here is very clear as to one of the objective effects of contraception.
Holy Mother Church says you are wrong.…we don’t believe it’s the only licit way to avoid pregnancy.
SIXTH COMMANDMENT
“You shall not commit adultery.” (Ex 20:14) “You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.” (Ex 20:17)
scborromeo.org/confess.htmNote: In the area of deliberate sexual sins listed below, all are mortal sins if there is sufficient reflection and full consent of the will. “No fornicators, idolaters, or adulterers, no sodomites,… will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Cor 6:9-10) “Anyone who looks lustfully at a woman has already committed adultery with her in his thoughts.” (Mt 5:28)
Did I willfully entertain impure thoughts or desires?
Did I use impure or suggestive words? Tell impure stories? Listen to them?
Did I deliberately look at impure TV, videos, plays, pictures or movies? Or deliberately read impure materials?
Did I commit impure acts by myself (masturbation)?
Did I commit impure acts with another - fornication (premarital sex), adultery (sex with a married person)?
Did I practice artificial birth control (by pills, device, withdrawal)?
Did I marry or advise anyone to marry outside the Church?
Did I avoid the occasions of impurity?
Did I try to control my thoughts?
Did I engage in homosexual activity?
Did I respect all members of the opposite sex, or have I thought of other people as objects?
Did I or my spouse have sterilization done?
Did I abuse my marriage rights?
I’ve kinda explained it a couple times. LaSainte did too.Ok…I’m not sure why abstaining during NFP would preclude any of what you wrote.
Not an option at this point in my life.Or not abstaining and not using contraceptives.
Lol, yes, I know.Holy Mother Church says you are wrong.
I’ve kinda explained it a couple times. LaSainte did too.
Not an option at this point in my life.
Lol, yes, I know.
Although I believe it is human error, and therefore not coming from God Himself.
There are many MANY priests who condone barrier contraceptives. I’m actually surprised that you are surprised.AACK!!! Your Priest told you to use condoms? As a matter of coincidence, Michael Voris touched on this topic yesterday and today.

You can do it!! When my wife and I got married, she and I both had to work full time, extra hours, etc… and we knew we had to be careful for a time about providing for our children. NFP was difficult for us at first, but it DOES get easier, and our relationship has benefited substantially in that when we were abstaining during the fertile period, it forced us to love each other in different ways other than sex. The whole process also forced us to communicate better, which has helped in a million other situations.
I’m glad it’s been good for you and your marriage. You can do it!![]()
…And this is another reason that adds to why I think the whole contraception thing is ridiculous.Originally Posted by Debora123

Completely illogical and quite ludicrous, IMHO.
It’s not a performance pressure. It’s an emotional thing much more than a physical thing.
Would this help to lesson any stress due to performance pressure?:

If I thought it was a sin, I wouldn’t do it and wouldn’t have my husband do it.I really don’t mean to pick on you, I just wish someone told me these things years ago. I, still feel sadness that we used ABC, mostly because of allowing my spouse to fall into sin.![]()
If so then they are acting contrary to their Priesthood…There are many MANY priests who condone barrier contraceptives.
If there are ANY priests (I do not say there are many) who act this…There are many MANY priests who condone barrier contraceptives. I’m actually surprised that you are surprised.![]()
Maybe you are the one making the error?Lol, yes, I know.
Although I believe it is human error, and therefore not coming from God Himself.
Well obviously I don’t believe this to be the case.Maybe you are the one making the error?
