I’ve been posting on the former catholics site for just over a week as Kim Zef. Got really irritated and left after 4 days—these guys have no civility whatsoever! Started back on their site yesterday. They call me Kim the Cultist. I’ve asked them to call me something more colorful like Spawn of Satan or Whore of Babylon. They’ve yet to comply.

Interesting that I had a discussion with a KJV onlyist and made the points stillsmallvoice raised, and not once did he refute it, but you can see what I got here: candymag.com/teentalk/index.php?topic=87537.30 My reply is on the next page. Stillsmallvoice, if you’re reading this, maybe you can provide further comments and possible replies as well…

Folks, just reinterating. Someone from this forum went over there and got a bunch of spyware…not only are they fruity there, there web site had spyware on it. Use caution!
I went to to just read some of it, and I got spyware, too…Fortunately, Spybot found it & removed it, but caution is highly recommended. Unless you have a darn good firewall, that site is best left alone…

What the heck’s an onlyist?
KJV Onlyists believe that the only Bible in the world that is not put out by followers of the antichrist, is the King James version.
All the others–Catholic & Protestant alike–are being printed to deceive Christians into worshipping antichrist instead of God. As I mentioned in my earlier post, there is even suspicion over Bibles in other languages…Hence, the worry that my greatgrandma’s Dutch Bible might be “antichristian”.
This is actually, IMHO, a cult. They worship the King James Bible instead of God. Of course, if you told them that, thet would assume that you were one of the “lost souls” they are trying to “rescue”.

On a somewhat lighter, or at least more bizarre, note, many of them refer to King James as a “saint”…not withstanding the fact that he was referred to in his own day–and at his own court!–as “Queen James”, because he was so blatant about his attraction to young men.

The homosexual issue is one of the standard arguments that they encounter, and their answers are ready at hand. Plenty of them simply dissociate the Bible from the king; others point to the doubtful character of the accusations.

Yikes!! Kevan, that link is  unreal…If that is a sample of what these (KJV onlyist) people are being taught, it is no wonder they are so confused…
If you all decide to check it out, you might want to take  an extra 1/2 a blood-pressure pill…I mean, I did a little exploring, trying to find out who & what was behind it…
I thought I had encountered some of the wildest wild stories that anyone could imagine…I was wrong. That place ishttp://bestsmileys.com/puking/1.gif worse.:banghead:

Sorry. Guess I should have issued a disclaimer. :o
It’s OK…I should have had the sense not to explore, but I was (stupidly) trying to find out more about them, & I found out…well, Bestsmileys.com about them…

It’s not really a Baptist tradition to look for the good in all denominations.
This is obvious from the sermons I’ve heard at Baptist sects. The preacher must make himself feel better when he spews hate (and lies?) about all the the other denominations (mostly about Catholics though.).
Baptists came into existence on the premise that the whole Christian world was corrupt and could not be reformed.
It’s a good thing we Catholics have Jesus and are His visible body, His Chruch, He can win over all corruption and never needs “re”(de)-formation!
They started a new church with a new baptism…
Shame, I would think the Catholic Church Christ founded in 33 A.D. would be good enough and the baptism He established would suffice? I guess Baptists think they can improve on Jesus.😦

Every day I remember my time in Baptists sects is a day I rejoice I crossed the Tiber back to Jesus and His Catholic body.:dancing:
