and yet here you are defending the flds “apostates” or do you consider them “real mormons” for living the Joseph Smith style “fullness” of the gospel?
FLDS are not Mormons, and I am not defending them. But whatever they are, they are entitled to the due process of law, like everyone else is.

. Even if I were pro Gay marriage I would oppose the decision of the Court because it ignores the clearly evidenced will of the people.
With all due respect, i doubt this is true… because most homosexuals (if not all) couldn’t care less about law & order… majority rules, etc… when they want their agenda promoted… I suppose all human beings arel like that to some degree or another… but those in serious sin… have minds that are darkened…

and what due process of law were the “reassigned” wives and children afforded over the years? the exiled boys? the men whose families were “reassigned” ? that doesn’t even go into the orchestrated obstruction of justice that has always been a part of the FLDS culture (learned from LDS leaders BY, John Taylor, joseph F. Smith and others). these are polygamists!!! every one knows it. that’s illegal. they live on compounds so that they can brainwash whole generations and force them to live in this disgusting manner that “awards” underage girls to “worthy” men and creates harems that can be taken away for “disobedience” and “awarded” for “obedience” by self proclaimed prophets. what about this is worth defending?

2 peter chapter 2 :
thank you so much for this… so many nowadays seem to forget about the wrath of God against sin (& those who practice it and promote it…)…
they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. ]
Some people think that this means (the described persons) cannot be saved… I don’t believe that… but i used to & … well, i still wonder what exactly it means… I think it just means that the person has a harder time adhering to Christ & his truth once he has gone so far astray… (?)

if you’re still alive it’s not too late to repent. i think it means that if they never repent then they will suffer for it. God calls even the most hard core sinners to repentance. only when he chooses the time to end their lives has he decreed their chance to return to him over.

i agree… and i am so glad i am Catholic because before i understood Scripture really well, i wondered about, was tormented about, whether i was “saved” or not…

I am so thankful the catholic Church teaches that ther is no unforgivable sin except rejecting Christ’s forgivness…

Even after knowing this, it took a long time to fully accept it… Thank God that finally happened…

by the way, i’ve heard some weird interpretations about w hat the “unforgivable” sin is… Yikes…
I love the Catholic Church more every day… 🙂

You’re saying I am lying about my own opinions? Do you want to re-phrase that? Do you want to re-read what I wrote?

The flds win their case. The children will be returned. Thank heavens the court saw through the travesty of justice committed by the state of texas.

Now we must all wait for the possible lawsuits against the state of texas. It should run into the millions, if the flds lawyers are smart.

And to the people on this forum who could see not see the injustice of the act by the state hopefully now can see what a futile attempt it was by texas to separate children from parents with flimsy evidence.

Due process of law is due process of law. I don’t care what somebody’s crime is (or isn’t). Whether he is a murderer, a bank robber, a drug dealer—or a completely innocent man—he is entitled to due process of law.

Justice did not prevail. True justice means protecting the rights of the victims.

Justice did not prevail.
It did not in this case, for sure.

I hope that for some of the kids, exposure to a normal life, however brief, will be enough of a seed sown for them to leave the cult when they become old enough.

How can they return them to their parents, if the DNA can’t establish who that is?

once again you don’t read the ruling. the FLDS didn’t “win” anything. the state supreme chose not to hear the case thus letting the apellate court decision stand. THAT ruling only orders SOME of the children back and even then only while the investigation continues. the lawsuits you gleefully hope to see
CAN’T happen. it’s called sovereign immunity. they can’t sue the state. the other piece of this is to whom will the children go back to? the FLDS have practiced so much deception with fake birth certificates and switching identities that coupled with the practice of reassigning wives and children it will be difficult to show which parents to send the children to.

all of this so that confirmed lawbreakers can continue to defy mans law and gods by enslaving women and children to appease the lust of these cultists. how disgusting that people defend these perverts. it can only be because they do the same thing joseph smith did and there appears to be desperation to make that a right.

we’ll see how it all ends. this is nothing but a temporary setback that only hurts the children. i’m not surprised to see you celebrate it but i am disgusted that this despicable and unholy practice is so joyously promoted by mormons.

at what point was the reassigning of women and children due process?

what about the assigned marriages?

it wasn’t. this isn’t about due process or rights at all. it’s legal hairsplitting over the interim measures being taken to safeguard children while the process of prosecuting their perverted cult goes forward at a snails pace.

Since when did you become the judge and jury and executioner of the United States legal system all at the same time?

just stating the facts. nice to see the mormons here showing their true colors though with their unconditional support for polygamy, marrying underage girls, “assigning” and reassigning wives and children as if they were chattel…makes it so much easier to show just what Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and their ilk really taught. keep it up 👍

Since polygamy is still Mormon Doctrine, just “taken from the Earth today”, it’s really not surprising that there is at least underlying support for the practice. I’ve even heard that Mormons believe that God/Heavenly Father is polygamous. And here I thought there was just one “Heavenly Mother”. 🤷
