god is truly present in the Eucharist. that is what the poster was referring to. when catholics take communion they are literally touching Christ. it is amazing when you think about it.
imagine that you love and cherish a wonderful woman. she has to leave you for awhile and you think about her constantly. you are true to her and remember her every day. one day, she comes home. would you inform her that you no longer need to hold her hand or hug her because you have her in your heart. i hope not.
the same analogy is true of protestants and catholics. there are many, many good Christians who are protestants but they deny themselves the true physical presence of Christ. they don’t love Christ less then catholics do, they just don’t understand that they can physically touch Christ if they wish to.
