No Rich, I just laugh at myself. I’m proud to be Polish. I call myself a Pollock because the family (my extended family) did as I grew up.There are no Polack jokes in Poland. BTW, pollock is a kind of fish. The word “Polak” means Pole in Polish.

French doesn’t have too many such letters to deal with. Polish has a bunch of them and it can be painful to do it right, though most people would understand even if the words were missing the diacritical marks.

In truth, though, and in deference to your mother’s peoples’ sensibilities, I think Alsace was always more Teutonic than Lorraine. I think, at one time, there wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between Alsace and Baden, right across the river.Okay, I’ll say this, then quit. There is, I understand, a saying that Alsace has the best of both countries. You can dine as if in France and wash up afterwards as if in Germany.

There’s not a single left-wing agenda item that when passed he would sign with a grin from ear-to-ear. Just because he isn’t at the top of every building bellowing praises for all left-wing causes, you don’t think him a friend. Sorry, but he has frequently, and consistently, expressed support for left-wing causes. That makes him a friend of the left.
And that is simply not true.
