Not me. I’m a Bernie Sanders supporter! I doubt, however, he will even win the nomination, let alone the general election. But I have gone back to my idealistic roots and prefer him to Hillary Clinton for numerous reasons. As far as Trump’s becoming President, we are entering either Brave New World or The Twilight Zone.
I am with you on that.

It is now looking like Hillary/Trump.

Under no circumstances will I vote Trump.

Bush’s responsibility lies in his response to 9/11, including the removal of the genocidal tyrant, Saddam Hussein.

9.11 itself is the fault of the Islamists, and radical Islam. The fall of Gadaffi is the responsibility of Obama, Clinton and the coalition that took him out. The fact that Islamists would sweep into the power vacuum left behind is something that any reasonable person with even a smidgen of foresight would have been able to account for. The example of what had happened in Iraq ought to have been fresh in absolutely everybodyie heads by the time that rolled around.
The CIA was gutted under the Clinton Administration for whomever that responsibility lies, also, there was responsibility to deal with Hussein instead of just kicking the can down the road.

👍 yes!

It may trump other rights but given that abortion is the law and has been through many administrations, Republican as well as Democrat, the issue serves as a poor litmus test for candidates when there are so many other issues those elected can actually influence much more strongly.
Republicans have made great strides in limiting abortion in the last few years_all in spite of overwhelming opposition from Democrats Ask planned parenthood if Republicans do anything about abortion

I think that Bush was rather magnanimous in refusing to blame anyone else or pass the buck when it came to the intelligence failures that led to 911. Unlike the crowd that blames everything on Bush still, even eight years into the Obama regime, Bush refused to go there. Instead, his focus was proactive, and forging an effective response to the new reality.

The whole idea of finding someone to blame is rather juvenile, especially when the full weight of the American military is there to enforce your will.

It was the Obama administration that made the decision to decapitate Qaddafi, and nobody else’s. Congress was not even asked for (name removed by moderator)ut. Obama acted according to the principle of leading from behind, and entered on his own volition.

Obama and Clinton are therefore responsible for the decisions that they made, and for the fallout that results directly from those decisions. In the case of Libya, the fallout includes the death of a rather loathsome fellow, who nevertheless was cooperating with the American intelligence in the war on terror, and the further empowerment of radical Islamists, who now could worked unimpeded from their new base in Libya.

It is also true that in a democracy, the American people are also responsible. The American people supported this decision by both re-electing the administration that made this decision, and by not vigorously opposing the decision at the time it was made. Code Pink and the usual anti-war groups were very tiny voices indeed in the kind of protests that a democracy requires to hold the administration’s feet to the fire.
Even now, people are running interference with any suggestion that Clinton is in any way responsible for the consequences of her foreign policy decisions.
And so the spotlight has been turned, once again, to Bush.
🤷

I’ve never been much of an idealist, but I am a Sanders supporter. However, like you, I doubt that he will even win the nomination, let alone the presidency. I think Clinton will most likely sweep Super Tuesday, and I think Trump will take every state except maybe Texas, which Cruz really ought to be able to hold onto.

So, I think it’s going to be a Clinton/Trump fight for the WH, and I do think Clinton will win that. However, should Trump win, I think we’d be entering The Twilight Zone, as you suggested. I think it would take the US many, many years to recover from a Trump presidency.

On a brighter note, Trump really shouldn’t be able to penetrate the Blue Wall, and unless he does, Clinton will become the first female president of the US. Although I greatly prefer Sanders, better Clinton than Trump.

Let’s enter the Twiligh Zone for a scary moment…Trump is elected. Given that he cannot deliver on most of his absurd promises, where will it leaves us? At war with the world? A country of bigots and proud if it?

Regardless of your opinion on the “right to bear arms”, I’m not sure how a Catholic can support Clinton given her support of abortion and opposition to religious freedom.
It’s not hard at all. Most Catholics supported Obama and regarding HRC-I doubt that many will choose Trump over her.

I think we should save our predictions at least until after Super Tuesday or possibly later.

An excellent point. Unless the Catholic laity has changed a lot in the last four years, I agree with you.

Probably, yes, that’s where we’d be. Scary.

The only thing worse than a Trump presidency would be a Clinton or sanders presidency.

I think Trump will sweep Super Tuesday except for maybe Texas, and I think Clinton will sweep Super Tuesday and March 15th. If she does that, she will be close to having the needed delegates. She did far better with the African-American vote in South Carolina than even Obama did, kind of surprising.

As to the general election, if it’s Trump/Clinton…???

Most Practicing Catholics did not. I did not as I examined his CHARACTER and knew since he supported the slaughter of innocents in the womb and voted against providing medical care to abortion survivors born alive during an attempt to kill them, he was the WRONG choice.

If you don’t protect the child in the womb, you won’t care about the BORN either

I just read an article that said the media misread the SC Democrat primary and Sanders shouldn’t be considered out of the race yet.

:yes, this is an important distinction and I agree 100%👍

Well, if I were him, I certainly wouldn’t give up yet, either. Stranger things have happened, people do come from behind.

Wouldn’t give up if I were Cruz or Rubio, either. With the KKK endorsing Trump, one would think Cruz and Rubio would do well in the south.

I think I’ve found the article you mean, 7 Sorrows. Thank you. 👍

This is probably the article you read:

huffingtonpost.com/seth-abramson/5-ways-the-media-is-grave_b_9340218.html

Yes, I agree, CNN did have it skewed. I do remember him leading everyone to believe that ONLY the south will be involved in Super Tuesday and that Clinton should win by huge margins. The article goes more in-depth and tells a different story.

Thank you, 7 Sorrows for pointing us in that direction. 👍

How do you know who most practicing Catholics voted for? How would you know?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, just that I don’t see how anyone would know.
