This passage really stands out to me as well! We are no longer sinners, we are crucified with Christ! Our lives are transformed from death to life, from our sinful natures, to holiness, through Christ!

I am not asking these questions to simply be contrary to you, or avoid searching the scriptures for truth… I am asking because it matters not to me if I am Catholic or Protestant. What matters is that I continually, honestly, and earnestly seek TRUTH. If the Catholic church is not true, then I should not be a part of it.
But through our dialogue, it seems that you’ve been unwilling to ecumenically seek truth. But if you truly feel that the catholic church is wrong, then please, help me to understand

It seems very difficult for you to go through the Holy Scriptures with the motive to learn from God the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. You sure have a daily pattern to avoid the light of the Word of God by your apparent personal attacks. You are quite the distraction. I wonder if this is an intentional agenda? I’ve seen this kind of behavoir before in another religion forum while discussing the 13 Epistles of Paul and the gospel with LDS Christians. I will now ignore all of your comments for the sake of the group. I think I have been patient with you, but I just want to go through the Scriptures with Christians (both Protestants, Catholic, and Orthodox Christians). The body of Christ consists of all who are united to Christ by faith in-spite of our religious communities. I wish you the very best Guanophore, but for the sake of the 3 Bible Study threads, I will no longer be responding to you. May God richly bless you and your family.

The Law and the Promise

What does he mean here, “our endeavor to be justified in Christ?” The word endeavor sounds to me as if he is implying a work in progress, not a one time act of faith. How do you interpret this?
How do you interpret "And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith." What does it mean to live by faith?
Also, he speaks of being crucified with Christ…This speaks immensely to me! We are to unite our sufferings to the cross of Christ, not to “nullify the grace of God” but to SHARE in Christ’s plan for salvation

I noticed here that he speaks of “hearing with faith.” Not “reading the scriptures” with faith

The Scripture he speaks of, is the old testament. He did not even have the scriptures of the new testament yet…so he must be speaking to them of the old testament writings… This idea is carried through all of paul’s writings when he speaks of the scriptures, (which is often!) When he makes the distinction of “the WORD” however, I do not interpret that as "the scriptures, " I interpret that as “CHRIST, the word among us”

I have always loved this passage
Notice, he says “there is no jew no greek…for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Obviously, a jewish person holds to the jewish faith…how can they still be one in Christ Jesus? How can they be a child of God, if they are as you define it, an “unbeliever?”

In this passage, we see that Jews, Gentiles, all are made one in Christ, all are made children of God through Christ’s sacrifice. Divisions no longer exist.
I’m speaking in reference to your interpretation the other day, concerning “If you were descended of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.” “If you were chidren of God, you would do the works of the father.”
Do you see the connection? We are not “children of the devil” because Christ has united us! “Unbelievers” are those who deny the works of the father and choose sin. They are not those who don’t “know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.”

I want to ask you, do you profess Christ as Lord and savior or are you still an agnostic? You cannot submit to the revealed will of God on many topics until you are born from above. Federal headship and the spiritual order between a man and woman is God’s truth and not mine. If anybody is mocking federal headship, then they are mocking God. Don’t be fooled, God cannot be mocked. If you are still an agnostic, you are an enemy of the cross, a child of the darkness and the wrath of God abides on you, and you are facing eternal destruction and the righteous judgment of God. If you are still an agnostic, you are in the hands of an angry God. He will crush you for your continual rebellion against Him alone. The fear of the Lord is the begining of wisdom. This is an odd twist to the topic.
Did you ever respond to my points about the Law in Galatians obviously talking abotu the law as delivered to Moses and hence cultic Jewish laws which set the Jews apart as God’s chosen people with circumcision being the prime example?

Reformed, there are no words to express the offensiveness of this post! Who are you to judge God’s wrath? Who are you to tell this woman that she is doomed to eternal destruction???
Are you suddenly like God, in that you can judge the nature of her heart? Do you know if she is seeking truth, or rejecting truth?
Where in the Bible does God ever tell us to condemn one another? Last I knew, Christ commanded us to LOVE one another above all the commands.

If you read her personal information, she is not a Christian. All I posted was the Word of God. We are commanded to speak the truth in love. Do you really understand the gospel of God and what we are being saved from and from whom? I think you have a very humanstic view of the essentials of the Christian Faith. God loves you and has a plan for your life is not the gospel. To believe in God without Christ is Romans chapter 1. Do you care enough about her to speak the truth in love so that she would receive the bibilcal gospel, be reconciled to God through Christ and be adopted into the family of God?

And what essentials of the Christian faith don’t I understand? What about the Christian faith is “essential” and what constitutes “non essential” ?
I 'care enough about her" to speak the truth in love, absolutely! To SHARE Christ’s love, as He commands. I also love GOD enough that I know better than to take the salvation of another soul into my own hands. Or to claim that I know what God’s judgement on a soul will be.

Salvation of sinners is essential, and God’s glory is essential. The message of the cross is an offense and foolishness to those who are perishing. The truth of the gospel does not appease the flesh, nor can it. Everyone is born into this world under the wrath of God under His judgement for eternal damanation. There is only one escape for the coming day of judgement. Okay, do you really care and love Ag Not, then share the truth with her. So what is your version of the truth?

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, [2] not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being [3] might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him [4] you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
