right. it should not come as a ahock that only 1/4 are extremely proud to be American.

I guess this really should not come as too much of a shock.
If my math is right, and it is, this means that under Obama a whopping 38% were extremely proud Americans.

This is no surprise. Today’s “liberals” (who are mostly illiberal, intolerant leftists) believe that America is a force of evil in history as it was built in capitalism, individualism, use of natural resources, and slavery (only one of which is evil).

that is what I thought.

at least the conservatives have remained
fairly steady and a higher percentage.

Yes, even under Obama’s leadership, only a minority of libs were very proud to be a citizen.
Drone strikes, Guantanamo Bay, the pathetically low number of Syrian refugees admitted during his presidency… This isn’t really surprising to me.

The sharpest drops in pride were among women, non-whites young people, and college graduates.
I don’t find any of this surprising.

Kind of a meaningless poll if you ask me. The other choices we very proud, moderately proud, only a little, or not at all. Only 3% of respondents said not at all proud.

Is is bad to be very proud or moderately proud? I certainly am not proud of having a moral degenerate in the White House, although this is not the first time that happened. This too shall pass.

I noticed you replaced “extremely” with “very”. I doubt the survey results would have been the same with the word change. Also this needs to be understood in the context of the other choices.

Indeed, the next choice after extremely proud was very proud. I cannot fathom what the difference between those too choices are.

Wonder if we can work a trade of disaffected dems for immigrants actually eager to be here?

Why is this a good thing? Why should we be “proud” of something that is an accident of birth for most people?

It would be like being “proud” to have blue eyes.

I don’t think the lower number of people marking “very proud” suggest those people would rather be somewhere else. 96% of the 765 (or is it 755) respondents expressed some level of pride with the remaining 4% expressing either no pride or no opinion.

Are you saying we should kick everyone out who isn’t extremely proud to be an American, is very proud acceptable, what about moderately proud. Sounds like you want a place like North Korea. I am sure 100% of people respond that they are extremely proud to be North Korean.

Nope, I just want to trade disaffected dems for people who really want to be here.
That is what I clearly said.

If someone doesn’t want to be here, then why are they here? Aren’t they voting with their feet that this is where they want to be? Certainly one has every right to not be proud to be an American, that is a cherished American right.
