Putin is reportedly saying “nyet” to gay couples who want to adopt.
Gay adoptions of Russian children will apparently soon be prohibited by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He reportedly wants the law in place by July 1.

Praise be to God forever! At least one nation in this world is getting the whole “gay rights” issue right! 👍👍:extrahappy:

Speaking from a perspective of a person who lives in Russia and sees whats happening in the country it wouldn’t surprise me that your God would support international and federal crimelord, a perjurer and his organized crime unit of tschekists who rob our nation and people, violate our Constitution, our federal laws, who deprived us of a choice to vote our conscience, and basically slowly turns Russia into a mix between North Korea and Iran. Because only in a country like this putin and his kind can hope not to end their life trialed by Russian and international tribunal for their crimes

They all generally like to talk bad about West civilization but they keep all their stolen money there, they buy there property that cost millions(that’s why they were so angered by Magnitski act and initiated anti- orphans law), they send their family, children there to live and get an education. They use our country’s resources as a slaveholder uses\abuses one’s slaves. And certainly they don’t need people who would stand for their rights and freedom here. That;s why Putin and his tchekists suddenly become so obsessed with russian orthodox church(the worst part of it, created and recruited once by Stalin) as they see it as a new\old Ministry Of Truth, The role it once played when we had tzars. And high clergy got themselves status of the Untouchables once again. The law simply doesn’t work here its “magic” on the likes of them and members of putins gang - members of the United Russia , a bunch of lying, stealing mob,

if you actually lived here you would embrace gay marriage if it was the choice between having it available for gay persons+livig the way you live in the US atm or leaving your children in a country where law enforcement agencies become criminals they supposed to protect people from, where social security is non existent, where the only protected class is putin’s tchekists and the ones who betrayed our country, where basic human rights from the declaration of human rights are gravely violated or simply ignored. And actually its NOT the best place for catholics now to begin with. Russian orthodox cult leaders do not tolerate competitors. And now that they are in bed with putin they use every bit of unlawful power theyve got to establish their supremacy.

Hi Lana,

There’s no doubting Putin is not only an unsavoury moral character but also criminal in lots of his pursuits, political or otherwise. As a person who has intensively studied Russian history, my greatest disappointment was that Gorbachev was given far too little support and then effectively overthrown before he could institute wide-scale democratic reforms.

Having said that, to deliberately deprive children of the right they have to a mother and a father is criminal too.

Its amazing what can happen when Militant Atheism/Marxism is removed from government. In my lifetime Russia has gone from being a international force in the negative to one in the positive.

And it all started with John Paul II in Poland. 👍

It gives me hope for the USA. We may yet get ourselves back on track too.

Don’t believe everything is hunky-dory in Russia! Lots of problems, some as a fallout from the USSR, some imposed by less than ideal leadership.

No one believes that. Putin has many problems. Thi is one area where he simply does a better job that many Catholic liberals like Andrew Cuomo.

Seconded, since I also hold the Orthodox Church in high regard. Whatever the failings and transgressions of Mr. Putin may be (and he is a politician, not a clergyman), there is no need to bash the Russian Orthodox using the old “guilt-by-association” gambit. Seriously.

Putin for president! Maybe God is using evil for good. It’s much more better than good for evil.

Although I don’t necessarily agree with Mr. Putin, I can see where Russia is coming from. It’s not exactly Western Europe in terms of homosexual equality.

This is a very odd point of view but you have right to paint it all in black. You better know why you do so.

I would say that any country has bad and good points (I can compare now) and Putin is the best head of Russia (especially compare with Yeltsin!!!) in not just main opinion.

My friends and relatives are far away from Moscow and most of them are happy in Russia. In fact some of them are better off there than a lot of people in UK.

Must I say it is a bad life in UK? Or anywhere it is just a complex of factors and depends on your luck and a lot of work?

For an information, I am not rich here and I was not rich in Russia. I am just an average office worker.

Uh, this is the US as well. Its been this way for some time.

Edit: I’d prefer Putin to be our President here in the US. We may get some sanity back.

Somewhere in Russia someone is posting:

Don’t believe everything is hunky-dory in America! Lots of problems, some as a fallout from the last election, some imposed by less than ideal leadership

Amen, I’m not so sure I wouldn’t prefer Putin. Tough call. 😃

It is a tough call, but all things being said I think this country needs some leadership, even if not the kind we are accustomed to. We as a nation have some very hard choices to make and the established system will not make them and are failing us accordingly.

I tried having a “Putin For President” lawn sign made during the last election but the cost of producing a single sign was prohibitive just to make a point to people driving by. 🤷

What are the statistics for children that grow up in a household with same sex parents. They have to be better than this:
  • Approximately 15,000 children leave Russian orphanages each year, usually at the age of 16 or 17 years of age
  • 50% of orphans after graduation fall into a high-risk category
  • 40% become involved in crime
  • 10% commit suicide
  • 33% stay unemployed
  • 20% become homeless
  • Only 4% are admitted to universities

You guys can have Putin as your president, I’ll stay in the U.S.

Compare that to that to the US foster care system and you’ll have an apples to apples comparison. We house ours differently but in the end its the same kids. The number of our kids “in the system” as a percent of population is about 2x that of Russia’s. As a culture we have more troubled kids percapita than Russia. A very large percent of these kids have living parents in Russia just like many US foster kids have living parents in the USA.

The reason we want to adopt Russian kids is a large part of the US system has African American kids and we seem to, as a nation, prefer to not adopt our own problem kids when we can have someone elses and we are a bit racist in the way we go about it.

Go Putin!

I don’t know much about his character, but this is a step in the correct direction.

Bread and circuses to keep the population happy and not focused on a corrupt, tyrannical governemnt.

Even broken clocks are right twice a day. That goes for the ROC, too.
