The photographers refused the business because the couple is gay. The Nevada Rights Commision fined them.

So, technically, the request for business service was not about marriage or civil unions because the “ceremony” was about two gays pledging fidelity (or something like that). The business refused to serve them because they were gay. That violates (apparently) Nevada state law.

This might be like refusing to take prom pictures of a gay couple. Photographers had better be careful, just like furniture stores have to be careful, about telling gay customers, “I won’t sell you a bed because you are gay,” or at a bank, “I won’t lend you money to buy a house to live together in.” If the state law prohibits discrimination on sexual orientation, then you had better sell your business services to gays.

I wouldn’t want to be their photographer either.

It’s about state statutes. You are discussing some amorphous “freedom” to choose one’s clients. The problem is that you cannot *refuse *clients based on *protected group status. * If you don’t like the statute, then vote down your representative if he/she voted for it or leave the state that has the statute.

Can a restaurant openly refuse to serve gays with impunity?

Can a hospital refuse to treat gays?

Can a grocery store refuse to sell food to them?

Can the DMV refuse to license their vehicles?

THE PROBLEM is not same sex marriage, or even the divorce rate. These are symptoms of a much larger problem. The real issue here is this Country’s lack of respect for marriage. This all started with the acceptance of contraception by evangelical leaders in the 1930’s. Then it moved onto pornography. It’s sad so many people view marriage as just another legal contract. Would same sex marriage even be an issue if people had a greater respect for marriage.

By the way, I don’t like saying gay marriage. There is nothing gay (happy) about it.

From my understanding, it is both an abomination to the Lord and quite simply, illogical from from a logical standpoint.

ALL homosexual couples can produce 0 children. ALL homosexual couples need to rely on heterosexual couples for children.

The people of California had enough reason, sense, and respect for marriage to vote YES on Prop 8.

Watch and see…it will happen. There is one earthly hope left, and that is the November elections. If citizens wake-up and utterly repudiate the left this fall, than there might still be a chance. If the left holds onto Congress, than everything I stated here will come to pass, no matter how ludicrous you think it is (of course Divine intervention would change everything).

This argument implies that, had the visitors consented, no sin would have been committed: The sin was not the homosexual act but the aggression of the townsmen. But again, note that Jude condemns the sexual aspect of their activity (which was obviously rampant, as “all” the townsmen were present in the mob), not the “aggression” with which they attempted to commit it.

Yes it is a sin. However, one of the points being made from the article was that the Bible is clear that homosexual relations were sinful.

It is clear that the townsmen’s demand to “know” the men meant to have homosexual relations with them—Lot offered, in lieu of their acting “so wickedly,” that his two daughters (who had not “known” men) be brought out instead. Lot recognized that the townsmen were not just looking to become acquainted with the strangers; they wanted to satisfy sexual desires.

I agree with you. plus RNC are no better conservatives than democrats. they just lie better. besides we know the republicans were who got us in this mess. why would we want them back? just find a faithfull Catholic to run for the president.

That’s a pretty broad brushstroke to say that an entire party is better at lying. This about voting in line with Catholic beliefs, some of which are non-negotiable.
