Thank you for sharing. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Why I warped into incest was because a homosexual wedding, polygamous wedding, wedding between brother and sister are all “pointless” because no marriage really exists since the relationship itself is disordered.

I was using the word pointless in a different way than I think you were, perhaps? Anyway even though we disagree completely I thank you for a polite and charitable discussion. God bless your day.
How is this disordered other then the fact that:

All I have seen of polygamous weddings and relationships someone gets left out at some point and seems to feel hurt so no one is 100% happy it seems.

Incest from what I know can cause very bad birth defects and other things to happen not to mention its just kind of odd. Though way back it was not uncommon to marry into a family that is related to you down the line also. This happen in small communities sometimes when people had to travel miles to get to another town over the mountain. I’m not saying it was right but it happened and there is little we can do to change that.

Homosexual weddings are not really between people who are related or between more then one at least I have not seen that yet. It’s still between two people as far as I know. I just have more things to worry about then two men getting married.

Disordered
Verb meaning
disrupt the systematic functioning or neat arrangement of and or disrupt the healthy or normal functioning of.

I hope I was not rude at all here.

Homosexuality can not even create children which is odd as well

.
Which is EXACTLY why homosexual marriage or relations are disorded

Perhaps because I am not talking about sin here. Look I am doing my best to be respectful of you on here and I respect the views you have.
Since this is a Catholic website, I feel a very strong moral obligation to uphold Catholic views and say that homosexuality is a sin. I will not be silenced on a Catholic website. If your views mean that much to you, I am sure you can find plenty of forums with people who agree with you

It’s obvious to me that SL does not think same sex marriage is a sin, so I am uncertain what this post is getting at.
The post was getting at SL was implying that since she has an anxiety disorder she sees nothing wrong with sin. I find that an odd connection and was basically asking how the 2 realte

I am already on other sites who have people like that and I have found some people here who seem to as well.

I have never tried to silence you at all. I come from a Catholic family myself and I know what the church says already thank you. Yes my views do mean a lot to me as they do for most. I however would respectfully never tell someone what to believe in a harsh manner and I am not saying that you have.

Now I hope you have a good day.
To each their own:)

I would be happy to explain why.

I have always had a lot to deal with in my life and I still do. I struggle with a lot of things and anxiety is only one of a few. I do not overload my plate with things that may cause me to worry more then I need to. Its not healthy for me or good. I put my energy and concern into what I need to.

I have come farther in my life then I was once told I would. I have overcome obstacles that some people just turn away from and never come back. I have kept my cool in situations where other people break down.

The most important thing though is I have learned to just let go. There are things that I can not even hope to change so I let it go. I do not dwell on it.

I do not need to defend my faith because I know I am strong in it.

I wish you and everyone on this site all the best in the world. I hope we can all find balance in this life. I wish you to be happy the most though.

Now good day and peace.🙂

God bless,
I believe I will not convince you that homosexual marriage is sinful however, I will attempt to answer your questions.

The relationship itself is intrinsically disordered from the beginning by it’s very nature. You are right, if you approach the word disordered in a certain way I suppose we are all “disordered” fallen and sinful in some way! However the homosexual relationship can NEVER be fixed, can never be ordered.

My current marriage can be in trouble, but with God’s help it can be made whole. My sins can be awful, but with God’s help I can be made whole again. A homosexual marriage can never be made whole because it goes against God’s plan for marriage. Just as if I marry my son I cannot expect God to help me in that marriage to make it a good marriage, it is a disordered relationship the best thing is to get out of the relationship.

As for having more things to worry about than two men getting married, me too! Most of us here do to I will bet, people have full lives and this forum is probably just one aspect of it. God bless.
No but the gay marriages still do work out and stay together sometimes correct?
I see some that are even stronger then a marriage between a man and a woman. I can’t tell you how many stories I have heard from friends about their mother and father getting into the worst fights they have ever seen or have had to hear going on.

You marrying a child of yours is very different from a gay marriage in a few ways not just in the eye of God. There are God’s laws and then there are those of society. What is normal and what is not. I have a foot in both this religion and the world. I can see some situations from both sides and that’s why I can see some positive things about gay marriage.

I’m not trying to be rude here or anything of the sort. I am also not trying to make anyone agree with me.

Have a good day:)

The relationships are not the same and never will be. God created our bodies for certain purposes, the biology is crystal clear. It is obvious that the sexual organs of a man were created to bond with the sexual organs of a woman. They were meant for each other. They “go together.”

The sexual organs of a man were not created to bond with the exit of the digestive system of another man. That is not what the biology is created for. A man bonding with another man or a woman bonding with another woman is not the same as a marriage between a man and woman. It is something people can and do choose to do, but it is not a sacred relationship. Your example of gay relationships being stronger is unfortunately faulty. Although there may certainly be a few cases of long relationships, by far the number of partners a gay person has is many and the abuse and brokenness in their relationships is huge if you research the statistics it is very sad indeed.
This is why I have given up hope so much in this life sometimes you know.
I know what Biology says I took health class and Biology in school like so many other people have.

The fact of the matter is gay people still get married and honestly there is little I can do to stop it as an individual so I just don’t worry about it anymore because worrying about something like that to me is pointless to a degree and brings nothing but sadness and anger. Why be angry when you can try and be calm and happy with life?

I’m not stupid or uneducated or anything. I know Man+Man does not = life and the same for a woman and a woman that’s just plain simple to figure out.

I’m not trying to be rude responding to you and I could say more but I am holding back a lot right now.

Now I hope you have a nice day:)

I did not interpret the post that you were responding to (about her anxiety) in the same way that you did.

I respect that this is a Catholic website and that you feel called to uphold the official Catholic Church views on homosexuality.

I assume that you also respect that many Catholics believe the official Catholic Church teachings on homosexuality to be deeply disordered. Hence, fair disagreement and discussion ensues.

If most Catholics accepted the Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality, then civil same-sex marriage would never have become the law of the land.

I think I know what you mean here but just to clear up any ambiguity, the Church teaches that while “homosexual acts” are immoral, being homosexual (having attractions to persons of the same sex) is not.

👍 As far as I know this is true.

Thank you for explaining. The thing is, I too could choose to get all upset over the fact that people are practicing homosexuality and loose sleep. Or, I could stay calm AND speak out about it without loosing my cool. As a Catholic, I have a responsibility to help my brothers and sisters get to heaven. I speak out to the point required to fulfill my moral obligation and then I let it go.

You marrying a child of yours is very different from a gay marriage in a few ways not just in the eye of God. There are God’s laws and then there are those of society.
Up until recently, in North America, the laws of society did not accept homosexual marriage and many countries still don’t. Who to say in 50 years, the laws of society won’t change to allow marriage between parent and child? A though that makes lots of people akward today. But, 50 years ago the though of homosexual marriage made people akward. God knows what is best for us which is why he gave us the unchangeable truth from the start.

This is why I have given up hope so much in this life sometimes you know.
I am sorry you have given up hope in so much (I suspect you are referring to issues not even discussed in this thread). I do pray you can come to see that with Jesus on our side, there is ALWAYS hope 🙂

.
It has always been a well known fact that some people will call themselves Catholic and go against the teachings. That is not new, there was a Judas among the 12 apostles. It does not change the fact that God gave us the Catholic church and no matter how many people in it disagree, God gave us the truth.

Yes, I should have worded it that way

I have been through a lot and most of it I have gotten through with the help of God and at time just by myself.

The problem here is that incest causes problems in more then one way.
