There are a few things that bother me about this religion and the fact that you get so many different answers makes it hard to know what is the truth. You say this and I go to another Catholic and they say something else.
.
Yes, that is one of the sad realities. Very few Catholics have been properly taught the faith and other Catholics just say whatever they feel like making up. And then there are the ones who speak the truth as well as the ones who have genuine intentions, want to speak the truth but are misinformed.

That is why I would suggest reading the Cathechism of the Catholic faith. There you will find the truth

one thing i wanna ask about LGBT, if they says that they only want LOVE and LOVE is their number 1 purpose in life, then why they don’t try to love the opposite sex? coz LOVE is universal, right? that means that they, supposed to be, fall in love to a guy or a girl , right?

You know there are different degrees of love right?

yeah and they messed it all up… “love for friends” is for women, and “love for husband and wife” is for guy…
Anyone can love their friend and consider them family. I’m sorry but I disagree with you. Where did you hear this?

Look personally I have a gay cousin and a few friends. I would go to their weddings because I love them as a friend and my cousins a family member who I love greatly. We love the person not the sin. I do not believe a person chooses to be gay after hearing so many talk about their experiences.

I have also seen families that kick out their gay children and are religious. I hate seeing that happen and I think its wrong.

If you do not agree with it that’s fine but do not try and force people to do the same as you. Its a personal choice after all.

I’m not trying to argue by saying any of this and I hope no one gets angry.
Would you encourage your gay cousin to fornicate, commit adultery, drunkenness, gossip or abuse drugs? Homosexuality is a sin.

Love rejoices in the truth.

I know how difficult it is for some to seperate emotion from the truth, but we should never enable or support another in their sin.

A man and a woman can get married if they are not able to have children so long as they can consummate their wedding. This is a common argument for why SSM should be accepted by the RCC.
Why would this be an argument?

SSM can not consummate their wedding in the proper, natural order of sexual intercourse.

Not all SS male couples have sex the way you describe.
And probably not many SS female couples do.
And also…many heterosexual couples have sex the way you described it–even Catholic couples that I know.

.
And those heterosexual couples would be sinning. Anal sex is not procreative AND it violates the moral law by violating the dignity of the person.

Natural law means we use things according to their purpose, and the anus was not intended for sex.

I understand that’s what this faith says indeed. However then again I have seen someone say along the lines of “If a person is not able to have children should they marry?”

There are a few things that bother me about this religion and the fact that you get so many different answers makes it hard to know what is the truth. You say this and I go to another Catholic and they say something else.

To an outsider this must be rather confusing.

I am not trying to be harsh here at all just speaking my mind.
That would be a good reason to actually get the Catechism of the Catholic Church and read it for themself.

I don’t think we should ever dismiss a person’s questions or concerns, but directing them to the right place for more serious answers is always a good idea too.

There is also the Vatican site that provides much information. Also, there is the writings by St. John Paul II entitled the Theology of the Body.

Often times, I don’t think it’s really that hard to know the truth. At least sometimes I think it’s that we want the truth to line up with what we desire and keep looking for answers until it does.

Can I ask why you are lumping committing adultery, drunkenness, gossip or abuse of drugs all into one thing along with homosexuality because to be honest I think they are all very different.

What my cousin does with his life is none of my worry unless he is doing something illegal then I will try and stop him. I honestly do not care that he is gay it’s fine to me and my family.

I’m sorry that people being gay upsets and bothers some people but God makes us all in different ways. We are all his children and so are they and I know he loves us all.

I am praying for you and I hope I have not been rude.

So let me ask this real quickly and I mean no rudeness in doing so.

Why does it matter so much what other people do? This may be incorrect but it looks like it really matters to some people on this forum and others and I do not understand why.

You are incorrect as far as Catholic church teaching it is certainly not time to honor same sex “marriage” and homosexual marriage relationships are not good.

Daddygirl and Silverlight, you are both children of God with a free will. It seem pointless to debate this, if you don’t want to embrace the Catholic church’s teaching on this matter then you won’t. You won’t be alone.
You are correct I don’t accept the teaching on it. I feel it excludes people and I believe that is wrong in a few ways. When you call people the children of God and then say “they are wrong or bad” I find that goes against a teaching.

I am allowed to believe what I want in this world and I along with everyone else on this planet have a right to. I’m not trying to tell people what they believe is wrong or anything of the sort.

If people have a problem with what I believe then they do and that’s fine. I love God and I have for a very long time. God is the only one who can judge me correctly.

Throughout this thread I could have been extreamly condescending if I wanted to but I was not because that’s rude.

I hope I was not rude to anyone as it’s not my intent at all.

Now have a good day.

You have not been condescending at all and, as others have pointed out, you have plenty of company in that many Catholics disagree with the Church’s teaching regarding homosexuality. Marriage equality is now, in part, the law of the land because of Catholics on the Supreme Court.

God bless!

It may be the law of the land, but it isn’t true. The continued reaction from the gay rights just proves it over and over and over again.

It doesn’t matter how many laws about “marriage equality” there are; a gay relationship and a straight one will never be equal.

Also, those Catholics who refuse to accept to the Church’s teaching on marriage should reassess whether or not they should be going to Communion.

God is the only one who can judge me correctly.
Talking about being “judged” is often the first line of defense for those looking to justify sexual sins, no matter how nicely they put forth their arguments.

I am not trying to justify anything why do you think people are trying to justify things by saying that when it is honestly true?

People can judge all they want but in the end it sometimes means nothing. There are of course those out there that seems to just have negative views and that is fine.

Good Day

…a gay relationship and a straight one will never be equal…
They’ve always been equal, but they are not the same.

Catholics call marriage in the church Holy Matrimony. Civil marriage is a different thing, of course.

Pointing out the Truth is not judging. That is my point.
