Gay?

Apparantly the gay people that you all do meet you do not choose to get to know well. I have two sisters that are gay and they are not mad at the world or bitter. They are also not going and having sex every two minutes or molesting little children wich is societys view of them. Get to know one i dont mean say hi to them on the street. Sit down and talk to them and get to know their problems and perspective and if you keep your opinion at least your informed and not stereotyping.

And jeffery your exactly the kind of person im talking about when i say “society” i know it was a joke but it was uncalled for.
 
Actually I do know four gay people very well and he is pretty much right on the mark. Three are unsatisfied in general and not too happy with life. The other has AIDS (uncle) and is very bitter. The homosexual lifestyle is a dead end. No matter how happy or “gay” they might seem at first, it always ends in death or misery. Just like any lifestyle of sin. Alocoholism, drug addiction, promiscuity, homosexuality, all these lead to the same place.

Because one thing is a sin, doesn’t make another a non sin.

What was that question about contraception suppose to mean?

Sins of the flesh, very often “feel good” and give creature pleasures at the time. You cannot be truly happy if you have cut yourself off from God. Can You?

There are many in society who believe the word “sin” is a sin within itself. You can’t speak this word without someone give you a lecture on their disgust. However, the anger for the word is just the bitterness eating them up.

Has contraception made people happier and produced a happier society? I think the answer is no. Everything that Paul VI said in HV as to the negative consequences has come true.

I have dealt with homosexuals and I stand by what I said. I have yet to meet one that was happy. The best thing we can do for them is get then involved with the group Courage.

You are obviously the best source of information on your own experience, so I accept that you have never met a happy homosexual. I have met many. Neither my experience nor yours is sufficient to conclude anything about the general happiness of homosexuals.

Again, I can’t comment on your experience and I accept what you say.

Many of homosexuals I know and many I have met are happy and well adjusted people. I have met some who are jerks, and are angry at everything, and I have little reason to continue contact with them. So, I readily admit there is a self selecting problem with using my experience as a valid sample.

Are you a social worker, psycholigist, or counselor? Is there a self selecting filter that would bias your personal sample?
 
I’m a Catholic priest. That’s why I said when I meet them they tend to be honest one way or the other. No mortal sin makes people happy. The human person was not designed to experience joy by means of mortal sin.

Hmmm, maybe the problem is people don’t know the difference between child molestation and jokes about adults and sex issues.
Also, the child molestation scandal is not a joking matter.

And what makes the gay issue allright again? Its the same as racist jokes.
 
Jeff, I thought it was funny. It was some other politically correct type who can’t take a joke.
 
I feel sorry for the Governor McGreevy who today resigned his position as Governor of the State of New Jersy. He admitts he is gay AND had an affair behind the back of HIS wife!
Now who is being ‘eaten up’ inside?
Many people are affected by this shockwave: the Governor, his wife, the estranged partner, the citizen of the State of New Jersy, and many other I am sure.

Take it from one who does know, to be in a lifestyle that eats your soul to non-exsitance with Satan telling you that your desires in a happy life. Then, realizing that the further you believe you are happy, you are just fooling yourself.
By the gift of Grace from God and a partner who decided to move out on his own, I had my only God given chance to flee sin. Aren’t we all told in Scripture to 'flee from sin.; Sometimes it takes others a bit slower to get the news.

I also think the joke is tasteless. It assumes that all gay men will sodomize anyone who bends over. It is sophomoric and deserves to be on the lowest level of Saturday Night Live.

I don’t know that many gay or lesbian people, so I can’t stereotype them about their level of happiness. I would imagine it is much more difficult to be gay than straight and I thank God that I was born straight. I hope my children are as well. I know their lives will be easier.

I think it has little to do with mortal sin and a great deal to do with being treated like a dog. I had a very sweet high school student who was very effeminate. He was kind and very artistic. The other kids–especially the boys were so cruel to him. Is it any wonder that he was unhappy? Later I heard that he came out of the closet. At the time he was just a poor, unforturnate sissy. Why would God create him like that if he wasn’t meant to be like that?

God did NOT create him to be a homo, he made that choice for himself. Ppl were not meant to be ‘gay’.

I didn’t say it wasn’t true. I said it is a poor argument. We usually equate whatever unhappiness comes from our sin as just a part of the human equation. After all, even Christianity teaches that suffering is part of life.

If I did not have faith and the knowledge that comes with it, and someone came up to me and tried to part me from my favorite sin on the grounds that it keeps me from being “happy”, the chances are that I will dismiss them out of hand… as in “Really? Could have fooled me!”
