Gays in military: Do allies' experiences matter?

God doesn’t create “lifestyles”. And yes, people are born with defects, just look at many murderers who were born with Double-Y chromosomes.
I believe that is a theory. If I’m not mistaken, a debunked theory.

In re paying taxes:
So do most drug dealers, rapists, and murderers. Even racist bigots tend to pay taxes.

Drug dealers do so to avoid being noticed, but every one of the 20+ drug dealers I’ve known pay federal taxes. Most also have day jobs.
Drug dealers, rapists, and murderers have a better chance of staying in the service than an exposed gay man. Kinda odd, don’t you think?

You know, I am seeing a pattern here. That poster keeps on making those unfounded assertions yet refuses to respond to questions about those assertions. Now it seems to me that if someone makes a claim he/she should be prepared to back that claim up with evidence.

So far, that poster has not provided one shred of evidence to back up his claims. Yet he goes on and on and makes even more claims. He is now claiming that he has “…showed that it [homosexuality] is something people are born with because of a variation in their genetic structure” when he has not shown anything of the kind. I don’t see any scientific studies cited. For that matter I don’t see any studies of any kind cited.

It’s rather difficult to have a proper discussion when a poster refuses to provide evidence. Evidently that poster believes his word is sufficient and we should just believe what he says, without anything to back him up.

I don’t want to discuss posters but sheesh, when all these claims are being thrown about all loopy, I would think that some evidence would be provided. One’s word is not enough.

Did you even read what we both said? The conversation was not about whether Homosexuality was morally positive, it was whether Homosexuality was a choice or if someone was born with it, and I argued and showed that it is something people are born with because of a variation in their genetic structure, and used homosexual animals as an example.
I read what you both said. The lack of logic in your posts was rather glaring. I never stated that homosexuality was morally positive; I used the term “moral/appropriate.” And you did not “show that people are born with it [homosexuality] because of a variation in their genetic structure.” You haven’t shown anything. All you’ve provided is your word, with not one bit of evidence to back you up.

In your post #276 you stated the following:

“So according to bbarrick8383, being a homosexual is equal to cannibalism.”

But bbarrick stated nothing of the kind. He was pointing out that using homosexuality in non-human animals as a basis for determining why it is present in humans makes as much sense as using cannibalism in non-human animals as a basis for determining its presence in humans.

It doesn’t work. You can’t have it both ways. And now you are saying that you “… showed that it [homosexuality] is something people are born with because of a variation in their genetic structure” when, again, you have shown nothing of the sort. Are we just supposed to believe you?

Don’t you have any scientific studies to back you up? You claimed all that stuff about 99% of this and 99% of that and you refuse to even respond to my questions about what you posted - what you are claiming to be true. I get the feeling that you have no scientific evidence to back up your latest assertion, either.

Or do you have evidence to back up your claims about all that 99% stuff and your latest assertion? Do you have one shred of evidence to back you up?

All I’m asking is for you to back up your claims with scientific evidence. Is that too much to ask? It appears that it is. 😦

Homosexuality is a sin. To continue in this lifestyle is forbidden by the Lord.
See Rom.1:24–32. These passages also list other sins as well.
1Cor.6:11-13. Lev.18:22
Lets leave the judging to the Lord. Mt.7:1-5

Please let me clarify. The Church does not teach that homosexuality is a sin. She teaches that homosexual behavior is a sin.

As far as marriage goes, no marriage of any kind should be the business of the government. The church you belong to and/or you yourself should deal & define these private contracts.

As far as gays being “provocative”, I don’t see gay people torturing straight people because of their orientation foxnews.com/us/2010/10/10/suspects-arraigned-new-york-city-anti-gay-attack/
What about all the laws about community property, wills, etc.? Does the government have the responsibility and/or right to determine the legality of such aspects of marriage? Is it OK for a man to simply abandon his wife and five children and not be forced to pay child support?

Government needs to be involved.

And if we allow people to “deal and define” the “private contract of marriage” anything goes. This smacks of moral relativism.

So then why doesn’t the government get involved in what jobs we choose or the friends we have? Without government telling me who my best friend is we are a “moral relativistic” society

I recall in another thread you refused a simple answer of mine, repeatedly, so how does it feel to taste your own medicine?

“Mainline” gays–I assume you mean ones in the military who pull their own weight and don’t get involved in gay politics–shouldn’t be called upon to do that any more than anybody else should, because THEY don’t perceive gay people as a whole as an interest group, let alone themselves as part of it. To the extent they control their own behavior and mind their own business, they should not called to book for the actions of political gays. The political gays themselves should be called to book for it.
Hi, colmywaykurtz,

Thank you, for your correction.
I agree.

From the news I read and hear, political gays aren’t good listeners nor do they accept correction easily. Of course, if nobody ever tries…

don,
You have have made some good points.
A persons sex choices should remain private.
Lets keep in mind, nothing is hidden from God.

Gays are seeking to be accepted by others. I can understand that, but we should be asking the Lord what he thinks about it first.

Lets pray about it.

God bless,
bluelake
Hi, bluelake,

I have enough trouble with my own type of sins without accepting other people’s other types of sins. 😛

I pray for them and for myself, the same prayer: God have mercy on me a sinner and on them, sinners.
Because, truly it is written by St. Paul, “…for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
It really bothered me, admitting I’m a sinner, at first. Then, it came to me, there’s two types of sinners and I get to choose which type I want to be: a repentant sinner or an unrepentant sinner. I chose repentant and am now discovering there’s some things really hard to repent. But, I’m working it.

Gay sinners can do the same.

God loves you,
Don
