Those two statements don’t jive at all

but hey, she has fallen in line now.
She’s a grieving mother, in most societies, she would be allowed some leeway for all the stress of the last 40 odd days. Zimmerman’s dad was the first to claim that Trayvon said something about this being Z’s last night on earth; he also accused the president of hatred AND his kid’s not even dead…

I think you may be correct. It is quite a flip-flop to go from this:

"Trayvon Martin’s mom says she thinks his killing was an ‘accident’

Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton told the TODAY show Thursday that she believes her son’s fatal shooting by George Zimmerman was an accident.

“I believe it was an accident, I believe that it just got out of control and he couldn’t turn the clock back," she said. “I would ask him, ‘Did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager and that he did not have a weapon?’” she added.”…

to this:

“George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood.”

and this:

“When I referenced the word ‘accident’ today with regard to Trayvon’s death, in NO way did I mean the shooting was an accident,” Fulton said.

“My son was profiled, followed and murdered by George Zimmerman, and there was nothing accidental about that,” she said, clarifying that the “accident” was that Martin and Zimmerman ever crossed paths.

I’m thinking maybe the prosecution influenced her to retract her accident statement since the affidavit contends Zimmerman provoked the confrontation with Martin.
That’s likely to come back and bite her later.

NO - your turn:

What does BLACK have to do with it???
Apparently quite a bit.

I’m sure Sharpton, Jackson, and the Black Panthers could talk your ear off about how “black” has everything to do with it.

I’m going on a bike ride now, I just know this thread will be, like, 15 pages longer when I get back.

Why? She wasn’t a witness to the incident. Her opinion of what happened is of no legal consequence that I know of, except perhaps, at sentencing - if we get to that stage.

Maybe the bike ride will clear your mind.
Bike rides can do that for many people.

No. You dragged it out of nowhere,
attempting to link it to my post.
Yet there is NO link to my post.
The link must be in your mind.
I’m not the one saying everyone should stay in doors because a black man is in the neighborhood - you are.

**SHOW ME -
since I have never even implied that!

I can hardly believe you tried such a slur.
Be my guest: SHOW ME when/where I’ve said that.**

The Affidavit of Probable Cause has been released. I was kind of surprised that their evidence to support their claim was heresay evidence and not something substantial. I hope they have something better than that or they’re going to get slaughtered at trial. It may be they use the weakest evidence in the affidavit just to get the ball moving. 🤷 Our criminal cases are done differently, so I’m not familiar with this procedure. Anyone know?

At the end of the document, the prosecution said they had more evidence, and that this was just to get the process started. I think at this point they only have to prove probable cause to charge.

And they would not lay out their entire case by any means, because then the defense would be able to address their contentions well. Both sides try to keep what they are doing secret to avoid that.

I should clarify…if she is brought into court. Her statements would be fair game for the defense. Her statements about it being an accident opens the door for probable cause against a 2nd degree murder conviction.

Here ya go:
Reasonable questions if you see a stranger whom you deem ‘suspicious’ and probably under the influence of drugs. I didn’t see the word “black” anywhere in Catharina’s posts.

How? Did she see something? That’s just her personal opinion, how can it be taken into consideration by a jury?

Except that by law they have to share all evidence during discovery.😃 But, I get your point.
