George Zimmerman sues Trayvon Martin’s family, prosecutors for $100 million

Zimmerman took it upon himself to follow the teen after being instructed not to by the 911 operator.
 
Is it your belief that 100% of the blame goes to Zimmerman or is it possible that Martin could also be at fault?
 
I read in another place that Z alledges that the “girlfriend” who testified is actually the girlfriend’s sister who made up her testimony.
 
I don’t know.

If Zimmerman had taken the advice of the dispatcher, and not followed Martin, he could have gotten to his dad’s house and enjoyed his skittles.

At 17 years old, he would be seen by a pediatrician or another primary provider who is qualified and licensed to treat childfren. Yes, Treyvon was a child regardless of his size.

George Zimmerman was in his vehicle when he called police about a “suspicious person”. Zimmerman was told by dispatch to remain in his vehicle and that police were on their way.

What does . . . he . . . do?
He takes his armed self out of his vehicle and follows Treyvon.
What was an armed, adult male following an unarmed minor teen for?
Zimmerman was up to no good and shot an unarmed minor who was protecting himself from an armed adult.

Unless Skittles and Arizona Tea are now considered weapons if they are in the hands of a minor, black male youth.

I’m sorry for being over the top, but almost 3 decades ago, I had a friend who had just turned 17. There was a machismo Hispanic adult male that she refused to date. Needless to say, the shot from his gun left powder marks on her chest and pock marks in the Our lady of Guadalupe medal she was wearing.

He lied and said he was trying to put the gun away in a closet 25 feet from where she was shot. (The point-blank range bullet penetrated her chest, nicked her aorta, exited her back, and became embedded in the wall behind her.) In another story, the assailant said she was fighting him for the gun. She was terrified of guns.

Needless to say, the grand jury refused to indict him because of lack of evidence. The hospital had taken the necklace and medal when she died and gave it directly to her family instead of placing it into evidence.

The ER was hell the night she was shot. Another teen had also been shot and killed within the same hour. It was like walking into a different dimension. My daughter, who was a 10 week old fetus inside of me at the time, can pretty much still describe the arrangement of chairs in the ER waiting area, the cries and movements, clothing and hair-dos of some of the grieving family members, and the overall madness in that hospital ER that night. So much for a lack of consciousness in the developing fetus. My daughter is now 29. Just a few months ago, I had to beg her stop telling her memories of the events that night because it was so darned accurate and triggerific.

I miss my friend like crazy and am so glad I recently had the chance to decorate her grave (300 miles away) for the holidays right. RIP

Her death and Treyvon’s death were senseless murders at the hands of selfish adults.

Your criteria is bizarre, that a pediatrician will see people as old as 21.
Treyvon was a teenager who was the size of a full grown adult male.

What about the concrete into which poor little 6ft Trayvon was slamming Zimmerman’s head? That should qualify as a lethal weapon.

Actually, you are deflecting with false logic and hyperbole. I think it’s intentional and you are not sorry.

For most of our modern history a 17 yr old was considered an adult. Boys stop growing from 16-18 yrs old.
 
You realize of course that this Zimmerman guy would be black if we were living in the days of the old south.

He was part of the neighborhood watch, and he was following a suspicious man.

The eyewitness testimony does not support that accusation.

This is not an excuse for name calling.
 
Why? She mentioned facts about the case, and then her experience losing a friend to violence.
 
Name calling is never appropriate.
As Catholics, we are called to be charitable.
Not just with other posters, but with the subject material.
 
If the case against him was built on a fraudulent witness, as is being alleged, why should he? Zimmerman had his life ruined for the heinous crime of defending himself against a self-styled thug. It should be noted that he’s not just suing the family, he’s also suing the prosecutors who, again allegedly, let a false witness testify against him, and the publishing firm.
 
He had his life ruined for shooting an unarmed teenager!

The only eyewitness to the end of the confrontation stated that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and punching him, while Zimmerman was yelling for help. This witness, who identified himself as “John”, stated that “the guy on the bottom, who had a red sweater on, was yelling to me, ‘Help! Help!’ and I told him to stop, and I was calling 911”.[107]

One eyewitness statement given the night of the shooting describes “a black male, wearing a dark colored ‘hoodie’ on top of a white or Hispanic male who was yelling for help.” The witness said that the black male was throwing punches “MMA [mixed martial arts] style”. After hearing a “pop”, he saw the black male “laid out on the grass”.[123][124]
