hmmm interesting. So i guess the American Revolution should have never happened by that logic. Ya know that group of people who wanted independence from the British and fought a war in order to obtain it.

Or how about the abolitionists who were willing to kill in the name of Anti-Slavery. I guess it was wrong to kill in the name of that as well.

I’d like to see what a different world it would be had people had your attitude that " Killing in the name of an ideology is always wrong."

This certainly would have never happened: 2.bp.blogspot.com/_3ZfUdO94O5E/TN4CapHO6rI/AAAAAAAAAAQ/HDk2N-G_j2I/s1600/Revolutionary-War.jpg
So the civil war was justified to end slavery?

When does the next one start to end abortion?

The deaths of hundreds of thousands is not justified by ends. Slavery would have ended on it’s own.

You were pointing out that it was an uneducated statement…and was basing it on an uneducated guess.

This does not look anything like something you would hear on Fox news…
Ya, I used to enjoy watching the news with Brit Hume. and I enjoy watching the Judge. Other than that, I have no use for network or cable “news”, since it is 95% propaganda. I prefer to do my own thinking. 😉

Ehhh, lets not get on the topic of the War Between the States. It usually brings out the worst in people.
?

I listed examples of people killing in the name of an ideology which you said is i wrong in every instance

So just to clarify, you think the Civil War should have never happened?

And exactly how would slavery ended on its own without bloodshed?

Ok, next time just say Glenn Beck. Beck’s not Fox News and Fox News is not Beck. There is some very good commentary on Fox News. And there is some very annoying opinions on Fox as well.
K want some more examples by anchors other than Glenn Beck?

I agree, but there are those here would believe that the deaths of some 650,000 American men was worth it when it is pretty evident that slavery would have ended through economic pressure by the end of the century on its own, without all of the lingering resentment that STILL plagues our country.

Anchors? So, Sheppard Smith and Brett Baier have done pieces on ideological genocide? Everyone else at FoxNews is a commentator and most of them can go soak their heads for all I care.

Only the United States and Haiti freed their slaves by war. Every other country in the New World that had slaves, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela, freed them in the 19th century peacefully.
The Constitution of the Confederate States of America prohibited the importation of slaves (Article I, Section 9). With no fugitive slave laws in neighboring states that would return fugitive slaves to their owners, the value of slaves as property drops owing to increased costs incurred to guard against their escape. With slaves having a place to escape to in the North and with the supply of new slaves restricted by its Constitution, slavery in the Confederate states would have ended without war. A slave’s decreasing property value, alone, would have soon made the institution unsustainable, irrespective of more moral and humanitarian considerations.
The rallying call in the North at the beginning of the war was “preserve the Union,” not “free the slaves.” Although certainly a contentious political issue and detested by abolitionists, in 1861 slavery nevertheless was not a major public issue. Protestant Americans in the North were more concerned about the growing number of Catholic immigrants than they were about slavery. In his First Inaugural Address, given five weeks before the war began, Lincoln reassured slaveholders that he would continue to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act.

Probably. Maybe I’m not understanding what your point is. 🤷
My point has been very clear. Im not denying that there were atrocities committed under Stalin, Mao, Hoxha, Castro, etc.

What i am saying is that their acts were NOT motivated by racial hatred or ethnic cleansing so it is unfair to compare the two

You Forgot:

Bush’s Fault. Koch Brothers are evil
Its odd that you keep bringing up George Bush and the Koch brothers when i have not mentioned them once in this entire thread.

So just so you dont feel the need to mention them again, i do not think George Bush or the Koch brothers are Fascists. Everything cleared up?

No, it was ideological hatred, which in a sense is even worse. It is hating someone for what they think or believe, not for what they are.

The deaths at the hands of the so called leftists you mention were not done with the intent of ethnic cleansing…good try tho
Let’s see. There was the anti-semitic “Doctors’ Plot” in the Soviet Union, along with the total destruction of some 500,000 ethnic Koreans in the Soviet Far East. Then, there were the Chechens, the Volga Deutsch, the “Basmachi” Turkomen, the Chechens again. Well, then there were the Finns in Karelia, oh and the Crimean Tatars and Greeks. Of course, the Japanese they murdered post-WWII were POWs, so maybe they don’t count.

And Pol Pot, of course, initiated an “ethnic cleansing” of Vietnamese from Cambodia, which, as we know, resulted in Vietnam’s invasion of Cambodia.
