I have a number of teacher friends whose personal reports lead me to believe the same thing.Public school is a godless place - I don’t know how you can make the statement you made.

She can make that statement because not all public schools are the same. I also work in our local public school and if they would allow God and prayer back into the schools our local schools would definitely be Christian. We have a number of Christians (including Catholics) in our public school system. Honestly, this really does depend on where you live. Like I said above, the more Christian an area is the more Christian the public school itself will be.Public school is a godless place - I don’t know how you can make the statement you made.
Wow, such love and understanding. God is everywhere. We are all God’s creations. Even the Pharisees were God’s people. No love, no God. I went to Catholic schools that occasionally were void of love.Public school is a godless place - I don’t know how you can make the statement you made.
What a slap in the face to all the wonderful Christian teachers and Christian students who spend their day in the public schools. Why is it Godless? They can take out the prayers, remove the ten commandments - never mention His name at all and yet He is there. Because HIS people are there.Public school is a godless place - I don’t know how you can make the statement you made.
I am a Christian. I could literally spend the REST of my life in a whorehouse and I will remain a Christian. My status as a follower of Jesus Christ does not depend on where I am… it depends on WHO I am.If a Christian walks into a whorehouse, he is certainly still a Christian – but how long will he remain one there?

I don’t believe in taking money from the devil - there are usually strings attached. In my native country the Catholic schools have accepted money and it has made them lose their way. Also look at American Catholic universities. Why don’t we insist on school vouchers and demand this from our representatives? Public schools are financed from our taxes. We should have the option to redirect that tax stream to private schools (Catholic schools) of our choice that teach good Christian values to our children. This will not fix the public school system, but at least give a way out to parents that need an immediate solution for their school-age children.
If a parent is involved and is doing their duty to be the primary educators of the faith (as we are called to be) then what do we have to fear? Most often good kids are dragged down by the overwhelming influence of those who do not live well instead of the other way around. Are you willing to feed your children to the wolves before they have developed strength in virtue and character?
Of course, it is the responsibility of the parent to be involved and aware. Part of that is knowing the influences that surround your child in a school setting. While messed up kids may be from every school situation, what chances are you willing to take on your kids and who they are with all day long?
I have not condemned any parents’ choices for schooling their children. I have only given information and asked them to really think about what type of influences they choose to have surround their kids on a daily basis.
I agree in principle. That is why we are asking for vouchers. We then have the choice where we want that money to go to.I don’t believe in taking money from the devil - there are usually strings attached. Well, I just think about who Jesus hung around with.Think about who your kids are sitting in classes with for 7 hours out of each day. Kids who are drinking, drugging, hooking up, cutting, bullying, from broken families, unchurched, wiccans, atheists…the list goes on.
