God does not get involved in politics. If we want term limits we don’t need a law. It’s called voting them out of office.

Since your response came as a reply to my post:I am really shocked at how this thread has progressed.
I assume that you see my post as an example of a lack of charity. I assure you that this is not the case. I am free to judge the actions of Senator Kennedy and based on those actions I do indeed pray that prior to his passing away he will seek reconciliation with God. Certainly, this cannot be considered uncharitable or outside of Catholic teaching. I posted the above reply in reference to another post, which was posted in Latin and said that we are not to speak ill of the dead. The fact is, Senator Kennedy is not dead yet so there is still indeed time for him to turn back to God. God bless. He isn’t dead yet. Perhaps, however, he will repent before he departs.![]()
I think you are misunderstanding the intent of most posters. It is not depraved to recognize that a person has a disease that is almost always terminal. It is not depraved to recognize that a person has done some wrong things in his life. It is not depraved to pray that such a person attain salvation, which is what most on here are saying.this is one of the most depraved threads I’ve read.
And why would that be? Because a man is going to die?! Because there are people who are speaking about a man who is going to die?! Because there aren’t 100s in this thread speaking about what a good man he is, listing all of his accomplishments, and pretending that he hasn’t been a major supporter of abortion?! Give me a break. I do feel for Senator Kennedy and his family. I will not however, pretend that he has taken a pro-life stance and protected the most innocent among us (our babies). Does this mean that I want him to end up in hell? Of course not and if you’d stop being so “Polly Anna” and shocked perhaps you would have caught that in my posts. I do indeed hope and pray that Senator Kennedy has a change of heart and repents. I want him to be in Heaven. For that, I guess I am “depraved.” Only a mean-heart, selfish monster would choose to pretend Senator Kennedy was something that he wasn’t simply because he is dying. To ignore the truth is wrong. PRAY for the man because he ISN’T a saint. Don’t see him as a saint and therefore not pray for him! How heartless is that?! Sheesh!this is one of the most depraved threads I’ve read.
I don’t - I am praying for his soul.Oh… and one last thing and then I will remove my depravity from this thread. I must say that I find it somewhat peculiar that so many fellow Catholics would have more than likely joined me in prayer a month ago for Senator Kennedy to repent and become pro-life. Yet, isn’t it interesting that now that we know his time is drawing near and judgment before God is neigh, so many find this same prayer distasteful? One would think that now more than ever is the time for this prayer.
If you’ve ever seen an aborted baby’s broken body, you would call abortion butery too.Actually, if the mother drowns her child in the bathtub, it’s called drowning.
