God Hates Black People?

I am not 100% sure of his point, but it was that if God loved black people, why would he allow Ham’s descendants to be cursed. Also that black people are so busy self-destructing (at least in America) that they cannot get together and become united. I think he thinks black people being Christians are taught to wait to be happy after they are dead and not helping them to fight injustice on earth. That is about as much as I could understand of his argument.
 
It’s sad that dark skin was made a visible sign of the curse of Ham. Especially since it was to justify the enslavement of those beari ng that false sign.
 
So according to an approved vision of a Blessed of the Church, black skin is a curse and a sign of sinful corruption? Can you provide more context??
What would she have said if the Cardinal Sarah becomes our next pope…

Thank you for asking him this, because I think this really gets closer to the heart of the issue, it sounds like a smear campaign. I doubt he even believes what’s on his shirt anyway. I suspect there are other issues going on with him.

A good response might be saying “Christ Himself was tan” if it ever comes up again.

lol, funny but probably not a good idea considering the mountain of misconceptions it will produce, a little too close to home today. Don’t want them thinking God hates gay people and don’t want them thinking God loves same sex marriage and the sin of sodomy either.

I would totally wear the Figs shirt, but the joke would fall flat since so few of my friends know their Bible well enough to get it. 😦

Can you provide me with a link please? I remember reading that book but not this bit you quote. Since Christ was tan, he was also perfect being God, so the logic is flawed if it was meant in that sense.

I don’t think it is sadness that drives these people. He has an agenda that he wishes to articulate. Wearing that T-shirt means people like you will come up and listen to that agenda whereas you wouldn’t otherwise; and now it is being discussed on a Catholic blog. He sounded eloquent because he has had a lot of practice IMHO.

Was he an atheist?

Abucs no doubt I was suckered into a dialogue. That is a good question. He might have been an atheist using the example of Ham with sarcasm. Could be. And I agree he was wearing that shirt to be provocative. If he was serious, I still contend he is a very angry and hurt person and I feel pity for him. If he is an atheist, I feel even more terrible that he is so blind. Either which way, I think praying for him is in order (I mean my praying for him.)
 
No, actually it is not approved by the Church yet. She was made Blessed by St. Pope John Paul II, but her writings weren’t taken into account because she was too sick to write them herself so she had a friend write for her while she spoke.

She was shown these events when she was young and recalled all of them with amazing detail. She also lived on only the Eucharist for 12 years and had the stigmata.

I would say again, if that ever were the case…a curse does not make someone a bad person. That just means God would have let them struggle a bit more; they wouldn’t be as prosperous. There are many different kinds of Catholic definitions for the term “curse”.
 
I wouldn’t use the word ‘suckered’, but I agree on some level there is a dislike in the actions of his own kind (if I can put it like that) which is unhealthy. I think it is good to objectively look at oneself (and one’s ‘own kind’) but linking God hating people to your own thoughts is a little dangerous.

I suspect it might be the case that if he is an atheist he is trying to have conversations with black people to prise apart their identification with being black with their identity as a Christian. In short he might wish to pit one against the other in the hope people will ditch the Christian identity and choose his identity as an atheist. Just what came into my mind from your description.
