Why do you need to respond? Are you employed as a music reviewer/commentator? Is Ms Grande a family member who seeks your opinion?

Thank you for posting this. Parents can be informed and guide their childfren. The Catholic response would be not to listen to her music.

Her music has been quite suggestive and sort of explicit lately. The music videos should be avoided for sure.

I haven’t paid any attention to Ariana Grande since she was filmed spitting on donuts in a shop while saying “I hate America”.

I will likely continue not paying any attention to her.

I just saw the music video last night. I honestly thought it was blasphemous and awfully sexual. I can’t ever listen to her music unfortunately because it is so sexualized. It is a shame, because she has a God-given gift of a voice. God has no gender as said above. I felt like her song was some part of a feminist agenda, and should not be taken seriously. A lot of celebrities, when singing of theological issues, don’t know what they are talking about. If you have seen her twitter posts regarding her song lyrics, you would definitely see what I mean… I advised my friends to please not listen to the song, but most especially to not watch the music video.

It deeply saddens me that this is what the music industry has resolved to. We need to pray for celebrities, including Arianna Grande. They are in need of repentance and redemption just like us. God bless them all…

It’s not an album but a song. It’s not even about God, it’s about her saying that she’s sooo good at sex that the guy will think God is a woman (aka she is God) after they’re done. So yeah she’s not saying God is a woman, she’s calling herself God.

Music video was a mess.

Nothing new. Pop stars singing about sex and acting as if it’s empowerment, as if a large majority of pop culture isn’t already worshipping sex, and they so need them to tell them that sex is okay.

Didn’t she leave the Church for Kaballah? Or whatever it’s called. I don’t think she’s Christian at all now.

After that incident I tuned her out until the concert in Manchester. I still can’t name a song of hers. Until now.

@RunMan don’t give this anymore attention. There are certain things which thrive on any kind of attention and will die when it stops getting it. This is one of them.

ETA: I watched the video and read the lyrics (because her voice is really hard to listen to 😣) and I think it’s best not to comment on anything based just on a title. Most of the answers on the is thread are useless and the rest are minimally helpful. When it comes to art and pop culture there has to be some actual experience or knowledge.

I wish I could recommend watching it
because
gophers. 🤣

I read a quote from an interview in which she explained her problem with the Church and what it said about lesbians and gays. She got everything wrong, I mean, I don’t think I’ve read anything as spectacularly wrong as that. Not that knowing what the Church actually teaches would cause her to revert.

I can empathize with her leaving because of its stance on same sex marriages. But what she said about the Church forbidding women to work and Harry Potter was frankly…really stupid. To put it nicely.

There is a name for this kind of music and I shall refrain from gracing the album with it. 😠

It screams.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

It’s the best part of the video. If I can find a clip I’ll link or post it.

my favorite part was when ariana swam in a georgia o’keefe painting.

That’s nice. But what I want to know is what did you think of the gophers???

Sounds like she’ll be invited to sing at either the Synod on Youth, the World Meeting of Families, or World Youth Day. Or perhaps all three.

I was wearing headphones and I got freaked out at their screams. Nearly jumped in my seat. Haha
