You asked, “How is essence different from nature?”Ok. How is essence different from nature? Oh and personage? What exactly is personage as defined by St. Thomas and Aristotle?
Bill
I don’t know if I really know but I would say that “Essence” is boiling something down to the most basic and simplest, which is that God Is a Being of Love.
Whereas “nature” would be the combination, even if not all of them, that go in to make up something, such as “human nature”.
Us, humans, being made “in the Image and Likeness of God…”, is just part of our human nature.
I have said before that since God is a Being of Love and we are made “in the Image and Likeness of God…” that when Love shines thru us it is God shining thru us.
You also asked, “What exactly is personage as defined by St. Thomas and Aristotle?”
I don’t have a clue.
I would guess that St. Thomas might be speaking of “personage” in a human perspective but maybe not.
I would also guess that Aristotle would probably most likely be speaking of “personage” in a human perspective.
Do you know “What exactly is personage as defined by St. Thomas and Aristotle?” and what has this to do with “God being a Being of Love” as opposed to Love being a mere attribute, among many, of God?
