I guess we do disagree. You must come from a very Catholic and religious background, since, despite this odd event with Gonzaga, all Catholic schools (including Georgetown) seem pretty religious to me. But I’m stuck in one of the most liberal states in the nation. We must disagree on this it seems. I think that if someone goes to a pagan school then they will know that when paganism is taught to them, it is the opinion of pagans. If someone goes to a Catholic school and is taught paganism, they will become confused and think that Catholics may believe this way. So to me it seems more dangerous.
I’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings. I see these places as very dangerous. People actually have souls, and those souls are often placed in jeopardy. This is not an abstract question. It’s a question of helping to keep people out of Hell.
I admit that there may be some problems at some Catholic schools, but nearly everything I have read online by someone from Marquette has been orthodox. I’ve also read online (from (former?) a Marquette student) that the theology department seems quite orthodox but it is partially offset by a liberal social “justice” crowd. So I stand by that I think it depends on the crowd you hang out with.
