I’d like to hear mainly from Conservatives here. What do you see as the good and bad points of Trump’s Presidency?
Do you worry there will be big fallout from some of his decisions, in the future?

Do you have a story your linking? Or are you just trying to put out an open invitation for member to fight?

no intention to cause fighting. Sorry I didn’t know I needed a link. I’m not American. Just wanting to get a more informed perspective on Trump. He seems to polarise people. But I think we need to admit good and bad about him.

This thread is not a great idea,

You are kiwi, so prob don’t understand how passionate Americans are about this.

Dont feel bad, those complaining readily post provacative “news” links favoring Trump and only complain when others are not bowing down to venerate him.

oh what’s her name? I cant remember. I would’ve liked her 20 years ago but now I’m conservative, I see she is an SJW idealist. The type who dont think the economy is important but rely on the country’s wealth to fund their victim narrative policies. She’s a nice person but sadly indoctrinated by leftist University education.

Is that supposed to be funny? or just plain rude? Guess you can get away with it, if you are one of the “chosen few” on this forum. protected species?

 Really, the Pawpaw is a fruit where I live.

There is so much noise out there when it comes to this Presidency that for me most of it is honestly going in one ear and out the other. I’m not American and I did not want Hillary to win. I of course laughed at the initial thought of Trump as President but with those two options in the end there was just no other choice. With so much hate out there for Trump though, fact is one cannot really know what to believe when it comes to news regarding him so again for me most of it I’m not even paying attention to. Those who cannot see the ploys used by the dinosaur corporate media today and their obvious general bias are just blind.

Something I’ve been thinking about: it’s interesting how the left-leaning media constantly reports on things that in the past may have taken a President down; they make him out to be the very sort of degenerate guilty of the very things they have tried to push on us for so long as being alright and perhaps they themselves have contributed the normalization of these things in American society today, so therefore no one takes any notice. The left doesn’t get it; they simply act and it’s a constantly changing act consistent with popular thought of the time but never consistent in the grand scheme of things. That their darling Hillary lost was such a blow to them they just can’t get past it and actually accept Trump as President for long enough than to do anything but roast him at every turn. This is not news.

I’d also like the unfounded perception that Trump is hated world-wide to be dismissed as the nonsense it is. Fact is I only know one person willing to admit she actually wanted Hillary to win.

Like others, I sometimes wince at some of the things he says. But the positive aspects are plain to see. Tax relief, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, relief to the Little Sisters, ISIS practically nonexistent, pushing Russia back in Syria, stock market up 6,000 points, deregulation including repeal of WOTUS.

To me, his big policy failure was appointment of Jeff Sessions, then his failure to remove him and appoint someone who will actually work to get justice done.

Trump was very disrespectful to our queen. She was almost teaching him to heel, like you would a corgi!
The man has no awareness of the space around him.

Our queen you AnZAC
The man is a reprobate

I read this morning that even Prince Philip throughout their entire marriage has always respected protocol of not turning his back to the Queen in public.

Trump has been photographed often walking ahead, and Melania behind, most memorably the inauguration.

I’m a fiscal conservative, but a classical liberal on most social matters.

Bad points about Trump:
  1. He has the vernacular of a Bronx paper-boy (no-offense meant to paper-boys in the Bronx): “I have a very good relationship with the Prime Minister…I said very good things about her, great things… spectacular things…she’s great…I said great things about her…very good…she’s the best…”. He is not a politician who practiced his public speaking for years in front of a mirror, camera’s, and staff to polish his public speaking.
  2. He has a very immoral history. He was a liberal democrat from New York in his younger years, and he enjoyed the debauchery of being a liberal democrat from New York.
  3. He is not a fiscal conservative. One of the big fallouts from his decisions will be when our bills finally come due…bills that he is adding to.
Good points of Trump’s Presidency:
  1. SCOTUS. I’m hoping he puts two more origianlist/constructionalist jurists on the SC.
  2. De-regulation: Over the past 8+ previous years our federal government continued to infiltrate almost every aspect of our lives. Want to build a farm pond to catch run-off water in Nebraska? The Obama administration wanted you to get clearance from the EPA and the USACE (two huge federal organizations that don’t possibly care about you or your farm pond) before doing so, and if you did it anyway would find you thousands of dollars a day until it was cleared. Oh…got permission from Nebraska first? Don’t care, here’s your ruinous fine that you can’t possibly afford to pay. That is just one small example of THOUSANDS! Another is health care, with the federal government requiring you to purchase health care insurance. The power of the federal government is too immense, and was getting stronger and stronger every day. The Trump administration is working to reduce the size, power, and influence of the federal government over our lives.
  3. Taxes - almost every working person in the country is paying less in taxes now. This is a good thing, however it is mitigated by the increase in spending and debt. We need to drastically cut spending, but that is very hard thing to do, and nobody’s been able to do it since (I believe) Reagan.
