Good and Bad re Trump

  1. Leftist ridiculousness. This is a broad range of things that span from college (heck, even grade-school) campuses to Black-Lives Matter anti-police tirades to Christian bakers being fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for not creating heretic art. People got fed up with the government, especially the federal government, being behind such ridiculousness. We now have a President who, with his Bronx-paperboy vernacular, uses the Presidential Bully-Pulpit to excoriate such ridiculousness instead of a President who supports it (ie: “The Police acted supidly”).
  2. Government elitism: How in the world can someone in the government send thousands of classified messages, including TS/SCI information, through an unauthorized home-brew server and not go to PRISON? Only answer for that is that Lady Justice is no longer blind, and that some people (in government) are ABOVE the law. Add this to the immense power of the federal government I inferred in #2 (and don’t forget the IRS who was used to target political opponents) and people saw how dangerous our country was becoming. President Trump is, hopefully, the person to break this apart.
There are many other pros and cons, but there are a few.

He may have been disrespectful, but I don’t think it was purposely done. It could very well be that he was not properly schooled in the protocol when meeting a queen. He has said that he has great respect for Queen Elizabeth. I hardly think that makes him a reprobate.

Trump was very disrespectful to our queen. She was almost teaching him to heel, like you would a corgi!
The man has no awareness of the space around him.
I don’t care. We won the revolution. Our President doesn’t have to heel to her.
I read this morning that even Prince Philip throughout their entire marriage has always respected protocol of not turning his back to the Queen in public.

Trump has been photographed often walking ahead, and Melania behind, most memorably the inauguration
Again, I don’t care. I’m sure there are many times I have walked in front of my wife, and I love/respect/adore her.

This is just a ridiculous bashing of a man due to your visceral hatred of him.

He’s got the manners of a dancing bear.

I thought that’s one of the reasons people like him. He’s not afraid to be politically incorrect.

So, why should he change.

Bad manners to turn your back on someone.

Oh, he would have been put through the protocol wringer. Everyone meeting the Queen is. Doubly so now she is in her 90s and going for a stroll with him

So anyone meeting your president doesn’t need to adhere to White House protocol. Got it.
Ever heard of diplomacy.
Trump is all about protocol.

There is a difference between being disrespectful and “heeling”.

I see no signs of him being disrespectful.

To the OP: this is another example of the Bronx paper-boy analogy. Ain’t stupid, just not polished, and so therefore the elitists look down on him.

Bad manners to turn your back on someone.
Wow! I don’t guess I know anyone with good manners, then. Do you really back away from someone like some sycophant before an oriental potentate? I don’t think many people anywhere on earth do that.

Well…the other end of the spectrum is to bow down before other leaders.

(Sigh) if you watch the video, he stands in front of the Queen until she needs to walk around him until she is standing next to him.

It would be rude of Trump to do that even if it were any other older lady, not just the Queen.

He did it to his wife. He raced up the steps and left her by the car at the inauguration.

A reasonable person would look at that and say “whoops”. A far right nationalist would look at that and say she should walk behind him. An extreme leftist with Trump Derangement Syndrome would look at that and say he is about to start world War 3 because he stepped in front of the Queen.

I’m the one being hateful? 🤔😉

He has a history of oafish behavior.

People seem to enjoy it when it’s at a rally.

When it’s called being politically incorrect it’s refreshing.

The queen is 90 years old +. , don’t you think respect and care about elders should come into this, walk around her, wait for her, don’t stand there like a dork and let her totter all around you and try to keep up on uneven ground. It’s got nothing to do with left right middle end etc of politics you are on.

It’s about respect

Yes. Whoops, we all make mistakes. But only someone with TDS would conflate this as much.

I walked on the wrong side of my Commander once during one of my Change of Command ceremonies. It was a simple mistake, and certainly no sign of disrespect.

I feel in thirds about Trump.

I agree with a number of (not all) his political decisions. I am happy that someone who knows how businesses work is in the White House–was it McGovern who had a huge change of heart about regs when he opened a B&B after retiring from politics?

His blustery style of saying straightforwardly what he means–i like that. I am soooo tired of the pretentious euphemistic linguistic activities engaged in by the majority of our elected representatives.

And I am not so thrilled about his lack of consideration for others. OTOH, I do like the fact that he doesn’t behave differently in public than in private. Some of the stories I heard from very good sources about the private behavior of publically polite politicians was downright frightening.
