No one wants to admit it, but there are a considerable percentage of men who realistically have no hope of finding wives who would respect them enough to stay loyal to them and founding families they could fight for
Undoubtedly this is true for many. But lower-earning men can have an advantage in the economic part of a marriage to a degree that higher-earning women, generally, do not. Men can be extremely “low maintenance”, financially, particularly if they do not have demanding professional “appearance” requirements.

If a husband puts his entire check into the family “till” and takes virtually nothing out, the family economics will be enhanced and his contribution will be more valued than if he self-indulges.

I remember a story I read once about a Jewish laborer in some European country. His earnings were barely enough to keep the family alive and his work was very hard, with very long hours. When he got home from work every day, he simply collapsed with exhaustion and fell asleep. His wife would tell the children not to disturb him, reminding them that he sacrificed much so they could live. Rather than disdain his inactivity, they should honor it.

I never forgot that story, and thought then and now that a husband and father should always strive to emulate that Jewish laborer as much as he could. It would be hard, I think, for a $200,000/year physician wife to have much problem with a $40,000/year husband who sacrificed his entire effort for his family.

One thinks of St. Joseph, whose only tangible reward in life was knowing his life efforts aided and sustained the lives of those who were greater than himself. It is, I think, because we do not follow the Gospel and see Christ in others that we do not emulate St. Joseph.

No, it’s not improtant for me to cite my sources on an internet forum so a wanabee intellectual doesn’t have the immediate knee-jerk response of immediately rejecting everything before they’ve even started the argument.

If you have a problem with a number, say your problem.

I come from a developing country where most people are poor. These poor people still find someone
Tell me, are smartphones and internet widely used?

I really believe we’re losing a lot of kids to cyberspace because the shyer ones, the socially awkward and the late bloomers can avoid face to face interactions and go online instead and they aren’t learning the social skills necessary to pair-bond

Yup. Widely used. Almost everyone has it including the lower income class.

HAHA, girl if you live in a third world country and don’t have a smart phone with internet access your are nobody in that society!!! [I must be one of those few using an old fashion 5$ handy 😁 ]

And I wouldn’t bother reading your stats or the treatment thereof.

[special shout out with respect to @TheLittleLady]

Off the top of my head, I would guess if the rolls were reversed and women experienced these problems of homelessness, work, etc we would never hear the end of it was the press. MSM Journalists would be writing article after article about the problem with demands from government and society for solutions. Calls would be made for a national awakening. Since it is males experiencing these issues, the press is largely silent.

68% of men between the ages of 18-29 are single and have never been married.

140 females graduate college for every 100 males.

Median annual wage for millenials with only a high school diploma is $28,000

7/10 of all suicides are white males. It is the second highest cause of death for white men between the ages of 15-34, with ~19% of all deaths in this age group being suicide.

12% of males 12 and older abuse drugs. Compared to 7.3% for females.

~26% of young adults report binge drinking multiple times per month. Men are twice as likely to engage in binge drinking as women.

Men die from drunk driving at twice the rate of women.

Men are 1.4 times more likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia. 2.3 times more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD. 4 times more likely to be diagnosed with Autism. 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with some form of anti-social personality disorder. 1 in 7 American boys will be diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their school years.

Men compose ~80% of the homeless population. Men compose 93.2% of the prison population.

Young male unemployment/non-employment rate is ~15%

Last and perhaps most disturbingly:

Men compose just over 1/3 of the typical US congregation. Over 70% of young men will leave their church in their teens and twenties.
Can you cite some sources?

If you have reason to doubt one of those numbers, specify the number and I’ll do my best to find a source.
You may not be writing an academic paper but you trying to persuade people. If you list a long series of stats and no source people just dismiss you as a crank.

I calculated the statistics in my head. Using life experience! I’ve consulted with myself and we agree. I’m a genius 🤣
