I think their ultimate goal is to throw a tanturm until they get what they want. Screaming to God, “IF YOU REALLY LOVED ME YOU’D LET ME HAVE AN ABORTION!” Let a teenager angry with their parents because they can’t stay up late. Or a toddler who wants a cookie before dinner. Sikhi teaches that taking of life is an immoral act. Given that there is no certainty as to when life begins during the pregnancy, it is seen as wrong to make decisions to then end the child’s life, or to not permit the possibility of life. Adoption is seen as a far better alternative.

However some allowance is given where the mother’s health is in danger or there is risk of death. There is also similar allowances for when the child is known by doctors to have serious medical defects which would result in, if allowed to continue to full term, the death of the infant.

Society is already beyond thinking that abortion is no big deal. They now think that it’s a right. And anyone who thinks otherwise is vilified as a bigot. The same has already happened with redefining marriage to so-called “same-sex marriage” which practically sprang up overnight. Public opinion is flowing in the direction now of calling evil good and good evil.

yes life begins at conception,when do you think it begins,one month,six months? At four weeks gestation,the embryo,no larger than a poppy seed,already has a beating heart,by five weeks,the neural tube is developing,little arm and leg buds,you don’t see that as a developing human baby? My youngest daughter is pregnant with her first baby.At twelve weeks,via ultrasound,we were able to see a little baby sucking it’s thumb!

Getting back to the chants of “Hail Satan”, I’m reminded of stories my late Aunt , and her friend, who took part in many anti abortion protests, told me several years ago. On a few occasions they were at non-demonational demonstrations where Evangelicals were initially in the majority, and at first the pro abortion pickets were almost mild mannered and the exchanges were nothing more than maybe a young girl asking an elderly man if he’s ever been pregnant, or the predictable yells of “When did Jesus ever talk about abortion”, BUT then, a Catholic priest would arrive, the “pro-choicers” would see the Roman collar, and both women told me in the sincerest terms, that it was like demonic possession came over some of the people on the other side. In seconds, the most vile profanities were being shouted, while police were suddenly having to block people from attacking the priest. Some other friends, told me how just a couple years ago they protested outside an abortion clinic, and there were no problems with the counter protesters on the other side of the street, until they began saying the rosary. Then all hell broke loose.

Can you also explain to me why you hand over so much power and admiration to** scientists** (you know, scientists, the people that gave us the atomic bomb?) to make moral decisions about who lives and who dies? Let alone allow scientists talk about not only** life itself,** but a little concept we know as** soul?**

Of course the discussion of soul would indeed be moot to people that claim they have no soul, and endeavor to foist that concept on the masses. You know… people like the Satanists? And many (not all, not by a long shot) scientists?

If not at conception, than when? The question is not about the argument over so-called “personhood,” rather, this is about when a human life begins. If a human life does not begin at conception, than when does it begin?

I wonder if pro-choice people ever give the development of their own lives any real thought. If abortion does NOT take a human life, then would they have wanted their mother to have used abortion after she became pregnant with them? After all, abortion does not take a human life, so had their mother aborted when she was pregnant with them, they would still have magically become a human being anyway, right? It would go like this:

1. Mom gets pregnant with Johnny.
2. Mom aborts fetus that is Johnny.
3. Somehow, mysteriously, and much to “Mom’s” great surprise, Johnny goes on to live a full life anyway.

We live in a secular-pagan culture that has lost all common sense and no longer has any detectable wisdom left to be seen.

To use an argument from authority (for what that’s worth), no scientific textbook on obstetrics or gynecology (in America, and I would guess in England as well) ever argued anything other than that life begins at conception…until Roe vs. Wade, when textbooks began to avoid discussion of that issue. So no scientific advances changed accepted scientific beliefs, simply a political decision by SCOTUS.

From a scientific standpoint, from conception the child has his or her own unique DNA and in fact has a gender, based on that DNA. That’s enough information to define it as human life.

To argue (as some have) that it is “just a fetus” is meaningless, as “Fetus” is just Latin for “offspring” - the word itself explicitly recognizes the human status of the person in question. It is a medical term concerning a stage in human development, and to deny a fetus rights and human dignity is like saying an “infant” or a “teenager” does not have a right to life unless his or her parent recognizes it.

Even if we are unsure how we want to define life, by both Catholic and Sikh theology (as you thoughtfully explained it), we should not take the risk of potentially harming a human life if there is even a possibility that the soul is in there. It would be like discharging a firearm into a house if we are not sure if it is vacant or if there is a life in there.
