Thank you all for your great responses. The migration of some stuff to his soon to be newly wed apartment has already started this week. The tacky painting got donated. And I agree that I should give them a month after the honeymoon to tackle the rest.
From the latest conversations I have had with my son, I get the impression that he fully understands that he is setting up his own home now and that all of his stuff will go with him to that new home - bride permitting, or to the donation pile.
But I probably will cave in and give them storage if a true need arises.
