Without an investigation first? Really charitable! While Im a cradle Catholic, Baptised and Confirmed. Conservative in the way to conduct Mass. A staunch right to lifer. Attitudes like this make the thought of leaving the church come to mind. If you are focused on worshiping God like you should be, You’d hardly notice.
What’s to investigate? There is a man wearing a dress in the sanctuary.** Men who wear dresses are perverts and do not belong inside the Church let alone in the sanctuary. **
People who accept this sort of behavior in the house of God have already left the Church. Where is your sense of reverence???

Did I understand your choir is front and center during mass? Seems an odd placment. Ours is off to the side and frankly most of us can’t see what anyone is wearing there. Oh, and do you have female choirmembers in pants and jackets? Maybe the time for choir robes has come again. Of course Robert/Roberta could ruin the effect with make up and jewelry I guess.

Exactly what I was about to ask and post Sly…

Seems like the pastor/priest could have easily suggested an alb for him or something, since he was going to be up and front.

In fact, in the Episcopal Church all people involved in the liturgy is dressed in an alb…LEM (aka EMHC), readers (sometimes), choir…everyone! Maybe the ECUSA really does have something going on in that area, huh?

Hey! TG or not. “Drag” or not. I’m still hung up on the whole idea of the entertainment cluster being in the sanctuary contrary to the GIRM. The pastor needs a trip to the woodshed, not the guy who is working through his gender issues. That said, I believe it is painfully imprudent for the pastor to have allowed this guy to showcase his “issues” in so crass a manner. If the guy himself lacks discretion, the pastor should supply it – and the GIRM already has pointed the way. See what happens when you mess with the liturgy? People: real people get hurt.

I am learning from the patient particiation of those on this thread. I still don’t understand it AT ALL but the xy chromosome mixup is illuminating.
Look up ‘intersex’. There are literally dozens if not hundreds of conditions that can make folks not simply ‘male’ or ‘female’. The old term for this was hermaphrodite, but it’s generally considered an offensive word. My chromosomes for example are a mixture of XX, XY and XXY’s. You test different parts of my body and get different results.

We may want to clarify what the original poster meant by “sanctuary”. Many people, particularly those with a non-Catholic upbringing or influence, speak of the entire area from pews to altar to back wall as the sanctuary.

Paul

Ah. Good point. For Catholics, the sanctuary is the area behind the communion rail (if there is one), that is the area immediately around the altar. The directives require that this area be architecturally distinct from the nave.

People who minister from that area (readers, EMHCs, servers, clergy) are expected to be Catholics in good standing and in a state of grace.

The fact that people have this condition is a separate issue from the fact that perversion and scandal is the result of men wearing women’s dresses in the sanctuary in the presence of God Almighty.

Of course there are people who were born somewhere in the middle when it comes to their sex. These people should not face scorn. They deserve compassion and respect as children of God who are bearing a tremendous cross. So God Bless you my friend! 🙂 The proper conduct for such for the sake of a civilized society is to pick the dominant sex tendency, be it man or woman and stick with it. It isn’t really hard to figure out that an intersexed person who is six feet tall and two hundred pounds with facial hair has NO business going to Holy Mass in a dress.

Then there are the homosexual “perverts” who are different from regular homosexuals who suffer with same sex attraction. These people do not suffer this condition, rather they just want to do whatever they want regardless of the harm they cause. Their main goal is to make their perversion normal and acceptable in society. They eye the prize of gay “marriage” above all else.

Except that they have to live totally as the other gender for a period of time and if they are Catholic that includes going to Mass. It’s so nice to see such charity and compassion from fellow Catholics. 😦

You are totally basing that on the physical and not the pyschological. So ulrtra superficial. What if that 6 foot 2 intersex person is the shortest person in her family at that hight a feels female otherwise! And please… keep the gender issue and gay issues separate! They are 2 different things.
