You guys are asking for proof. Maybe the answers to this question is the proof that you want. Please answer to all who are willing to answer.

Have you received the image of Mary as being crucified for you as an image that is acceptable to God?
??? which image is that?

Post the link. Its very interesting.
I would never post the link because I do not endorse it. I just searched the web for an image of Mary as being crucified so we can continue in greater depth about the topic. The image caught your eye, didn’t it? There are other images of Mary on the cross too. I heard there are places in the world with statues of Mary on the cross next to Jesus on the cross. Is that true?

Let’s stick with the thread topic. Have you received the image of Mary as being crucified for you as an image that is acceptable to God?
The topic is worshipping things. I don’t understand your reluctance to accuse Catholics of worshipping Bread and Wine.

Where is the link?

Why are you unwilling to answer my question? Everybody wants proof that some worship Mary as an idol. Please answer my question.

Well of course we are asking for proof… you made the remark that it is possible that some Catholics may believe Mary is a God. This is waht worshipping an Idol would amount to. You would have to be able to see in someones heart or for them to tell you that is what they believe. You can not just make an assertion like “Do you really think not one Catholic drifts into worshipping Mary as an idol?” and expect us to let it go!

Peace!

Really, you have no problem with Mary as co-redeemer? Was Mary crucified for you? Do most Roman Catholic receive the image of Mary with the pierced hands as being from God?
There have been various people who have had stigmata through history. It doesn’t mean that they REPLACE, or take the place of, Jesus. It means simply that they have a special co-suffering with Jesus.

Stigmata.

We SHOULD all be crucified, choose to bear our sufferings, choose to carry our cross, as Jesus was, and offer that suffering to God as a sign that we choose to cling to Him regardless of any suffering which might be allowed to happen to us.

Mother Mary WAS “crucified” in the suffering she bore. We are to be like her in bearing our suffering.

Mother Mary does not save us. Knowing who Jesus is while offering our suffering to Him is what saves us. Our Mother Mary, Mother of the Suffering, is provided alive for us in heaven to help us see Jesus qua Jesus and see suffering qua suffering.

If some people won’t accept help from those provided to help us, that is their decision.

To sum up: Mother Mary as stigmatic is not Mother Mary usurping Jesus, but Mother Mary doing what stigmatics do:

“The sufferings may be considered the essential part of visible stigmata; the substance of this grace consists of pity for Christ, participation in His sufferings, sorrows, and for the same end–the expiation of the sins unceasingly committed in the world.”

Please answer the question. It’s okay to repent of our idols and turn back to God. Repentance and faith is the true Christian life. I have my idols too that I have to repent of. Or maybe Roman Catholic Christians do not struggle in this life and have no idols to repent of. Sign me up to the Roman Catholic Faith if that’s true.

Walking in the Light - 1 John

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Where does the image say that Mary was crucified for us and where on the image does it tell us to worship her. Without knowing the intent of the artist I cannot say what the image means to convey.

Please post the link and we will forgive you and free you totally from any association to the site.

I don’t think you are a moderator.

Reformed, You need to learn a little more about the Catholic faith and understanding before you start accusing anyone of Idol worship. You won’t even give us a link to where you got this picture so we can ascertain for ourselves what this picture of Mary even refers to.

The only thing Catholics can really be accused of worshipping an Idol would be if one does not believ the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul, & Divinty of Jesus Christ. If the Church is wrong on this issue then yes You can accuse me of Idol worship. because i wholeheartedly and unabashedly believe and adore that the Eucharist is in fact Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace!

Please explain the difference. I will find an image of Mary on the cross if that helps our discussion.
Sure go ahead, please also follow up with any info about the picture, artist, what it meant to represent, etc. Then we can talk.

Thank You!

Let me try and explain, reformed, what I mean when I say I do not know the intent of the artist unless he explains it himself.

Heres what I mean; please replace Our Lady in the image with St. Paul, as his own words say;

Galatians 6

14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.

Does the image of St. Paul crucified bother you in the same way?

Please explain the difference of what… Stigmata & crucified?

Sure… Crucified is what happened to CHrist for our Sins and Cats and Dogs gave you an example of what stigmata is. Here it is:

Stigmata.

We SHOULD all be crucified, choose to bear our sufferings, choose to carry our cross, as Jesus was, and offer that suffering to God as a sign that we choose to cling to Him regardless of any suffering which might be allowed to happen to us.

Reformed, I think you need to learn about the Catholics understanding of suffering and how it can be linked to that of the suffering of Jesus on the Cross. It truly is a beautiful way to suffer!

Peace!
