My mistake. Brain cramp-Thanks for the clarification!

I think of them under the same umbrella of Catholic.
They’re some of the closest non-Catholics out there, but there are still some significant differences.

Sorry to hear this, though i’m not surprised. Good for him though, following the Truth despite what it means for him personally. The first Christians would be proud of him, even if he hasn’t made it all the way home yet.

Dr. White’s criticism ^^^ of recent comments by Hank on his program…which he is continuing, BTW.

And I have to say, I do not agree with Dr. White on much, but I agree that Hank should probably consider another title for his show. Because his audience is mostly Sola Scriptura/Sola Fide practicers. You can not answer questions the same way now that you see through a different prism. Just not going to work.

I commend him for challenging himself and holding to his convictions. But you have a reformed audience that expects reformed explanations, not the one’s the Orthodox Church would provide.

If I were still reformed, I would no longer listen to his program.
A eastern Orthodox person cannot have a lot of knowledge and answers to biblical questions?

Of course he can.

But not looking through the evangelical prism in which his listeners have come to expect.

Anyway, he got booted from the show so it’s a non issue now.

I don’t know if there are any openings, but Mr. Hanegraaf would proably fit in well somewhere at Catholic Answers Radio despite him being Eastern Orthodox.

The Babylon Bee ran an article on him become the “Apostolic Tradition Answer Man” last week. The Bee (www.babylonbee.com) is a satire site but like “The Onion” sometimes life outdoes both of them. The bee is mostly inside evangelical humor.

We’ll see where he lands.

I don’t doubt Hank’s sincerity, but it occurs to me that some Protestants find the Orthodox to be “Catholic-lite” or “Catholicism purged of Popery” and treat Orthodoxy as a compromise answer when drawn to a more liturgical church. (Same with High Church Anglicanism.)

I can also recall some Catholic posters here claiming they are considering converting to Orthodoxy because they can’t trust the Pope anymore due to AL and other issues. But I doubt the Orthodox themselves want their faith to be treated as a mere “almost Catholic” option.

Those articles are ridiculous. Nothing about them is relevant to an intelligent discussion of the differences between Catholics and Orthodox. It is simply an exercise in Protestant Fundamentalist obsurdity.
Did that clown seriously compare the veneration of the Mother of God to ancient pagan worship of Asherah?!!
Comparing use of incense to smoking dope?!!
“Graven images” of our Saints and Holy Martyrs?!!
These insane attacks apply equally to Catholics as well as Orthodox.

Following his Chrismation into the Orthodox Church, Hank Hanegraff was fired from his radio network. Seeking the truth has consequences. I will keep him and his family in prayer.
Not surprising at all, Mr. Hanegraaf’s employer was evangelical, in fact that is their business at the CRI.

I guess if the CEO of the K of C were to become a Southern Baptist, he’d be out on his ear as well.

Just the nature of the jobs.

I’m not saying that he would expect to keep his employment, but the smear articles are just ridiculous.

The word “smear” insinuates dishonesty. But those articles simply convey the mind of the author, and we as a culture need to stop sterilizing views we disagree with.

Frankly, you utilize the same tone to communicate your opinions as the author of those articles.
