It really isn’t too bad of a drive. You could hop on I-40 and take it all the way to Amarillo and be there by the evening. The scenery once you get on the winding road up to Red River and over Bobcat pass is amazing. They also have a cowboy dinner up at Bobcat pass. A bunch of ranchers up there, many of them from Texas, get together and cook steaks and play music. There is an old man there who will go through about about a half a dozen or so old instruments that you don’t really see anyone play anymore and plays a song on each one of them.And, here I was hoping it would be in the Indian Territory, an easy drive from the Arkansas.![]()
Getting out of this weather is worth the ride for one day as well.
