Has anyone ever heard of Jack Chick

There is a documentary about Chick named “God’s Cartoonist.”. It was produced from a secular viewpoint, critiquing Chick as an underground comic book artist. It deals with all the controversial topics Chick is known for. It is free to view online if it interests anyone. I found it interesting, because I was raised in a Baptist church that always had Chick tracts available on it’s tract rack. I had almost forgot about the tracts until I stumbled upon the documentary.
 
I almost forgot! Here is an interesting read about Jimmy Akin’s face to face encounter with Chick that I found after seeing the documentary.
 
Chick is to stupid to even get mad at.

If anyone really tried to give me a Chick tract, I would just laugh at the poor man. Say a prayer or two for the guy to get a real education.

I seen one where Chick said the Obelisk in Vatican City is there to represent a penis lol

Believe it or not, I have saw worse than Chick in my fundamentalist days. Down in Florida there is a preacher named Peter Ruckman that produced similar comics. They look like the rantings of a madman. Even other fundamentalists shy from him.

I just watched a video by him on the Book of Revelation, and among Catholics, Hindus, Jews, Atheists, he places the NAACP ( African-American civil rights organization) as one the “enemies of God” :eek:

A lot of people who study the Egyptian Mystery Religion believe the Egyptians created obelisks as a phallic symbol. These people also tend to believe that the builders of obelisks throughout the years understood this. That is where this idea comes from.
 
Our Morbid Jack Chick Theory…Beloved…it pains me to write this…but…some friends and I who are (admittedly) all a tad warped…think…old Jacko is…ready DEAD…that’s right…wipe the tears and read on…OK…last interview…1982???maybe 81…OK… no one sees the guy…but we still hear the name…my Good and Dear Friends…it is a bit like the “BATES MOTEL” thing going…maybe Alberto and the “chuckle”…“God Squad” have him in a Rocking Chair…and he is well…Mummified like Norman Bate’s ole MUM…now…Beloved…me and my friends are not totally sick…we THINK it was a natural death…the Cat was OLD…but they “prop” him in the window “silhouetted”…simply cause…HOW could you come up with a better “MINISTRY” name…than CHICK!:)…My lament…Oh Bard of the “Death Cookie”…We HARDLY KNEW YE…SNIFFLE…scuse me friends I am getting chocked up…:coffeeread::coffeeread::coffee read:…uh huh…
 
Someone left a little pamphlet called “Are Roman Catholics Christians?” at in my university’s library (it is was the sciencelibrary, oddly enough!) today. On the lower right of the front cover were the initials “J.T.C.” and on the back was the name of the of the publisher: **Chick Publications ** with some information about ordering more copies (i.e. “Send $12.95- includes shipping for a sample assortment and price list Outside the U.S.A.? Contact us to locate a distributor near you or see a listing at www.chick.com/distrib.asp”). I was about to throw it away, not wanting any non-Catholics to take in his ridiculous ideas, but I decide that the pamphlet was too funny to discard (it is no surprise that Jack Chick is a cartoonist)! I pity Mr. Chick and all who are influenced by him, but his claims about the Church are hilarious to say to least! For instance, on the first page, it says, “Is there a slight chance that the Roman Catholic “church” (sic) is really NOT Christian? Think of the horrifying consequences! If it is not, then (gives 4 faulty claims while trying to seem objective)…There is only one way to check it out. It is with the holy inspired Word of God (the Bible). Let’s study Helen’s life as a devout Roman Catholic… (goes on to the next page, starting to discuss the Sacraments, beginning with Baptism).”

And to end it all off he says the pamphlet is “to call everyone out of her.” (Rev. 18:4) :rolleyes:
 
Found a pamphlet of Jack Chick at my doc’s office. I was chewing on a piece of gum and I didn’t have anything to wrap up my gum in, so I used the pamphlet. It was very helpful to me at that moment… lol 😃

I thought so too… besides, my gum was getting tasteless. Made sense to put it in a tasteless pamphlet!!! Haven’t seen another one left at doc’s office since. Hopefully, someone complained about it and don’t allow it to be left there anymore. My Doc’s Jewish , by the way. 😉
