Sorry to say that I was a victim once. I was at BYU dabbling in Mormonism. It was night and I was in my bed and my roommate was in her bed. I woke up and there was a horrible pressure on my chest, unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It wasn’t a pain, but an actual pushing down on me. I tried to call out my roommate’s name who I could see over in her bed but I was powerless. In my mind, I screamed out “In the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, be gone, Satan” because I knew that was what it was. I was released immediately and shaken to the core. I was fully aware during this event and know that it wasn’t a dream. Sad to say, it took me many months (until I saw John Paul II in Philadelphia on tv) before I went to confession and received absolution for denying my faith.
