Had one instance when I was younger…still remember it pretty clearly.
I was sleeping in my bed, facing the wall, and I stretched a bit, kind of rolling partway over. My arm came into contact with what felt like oily, dirty cloth, somewhat chill to the touch. Rolling all the way over, I see a freakin’ tall guy in dun-colored robes with his face hidden in a hood, standing over me at the side of the bed. He had a long staff clutched in two powerful-looking hands, and he proceeded to lean over me and press the staff across my neck. I didn’t feel any sort of pain, per se, but a moment of blinding panic and difficulty breathing, and I got Jesus’ name out…and the dude vanished.
I have had some tender, wonderful experiences with the Holy Spirit in terms of balance, at least…thinking back on it now does not inspire the terror it used to. My Mom has had a couple of hair-raising encounters as well, along with beautiful ones.
