Have you ever moved, and then decided to move 'back home'?

This might cheer you up…I live in Connecticut and this afternoon we got a slushy winery mix for a few minutes. It is nearly freezing outside. I went out for lunch and now the bottoms of my pants are all soggy and my shoes are soaked through a little and so I am resting my footsies on the body of my computer under my desk for warmth:shrug:
Okay, okay, I will admit the leaves are starting to look beautiful.

Just another thought…you lamented there were not as many Catholics in the South. My immediate thought was, duh - maybe thats why God moved YOU down there. Maybe you have something in you that God wants to show to other people that might never see it otherwise. I am thinking of Mother Angelica who founded EWTN out of Alabama of all places, where there was a lot of hostility towards the Church. She could have moved to a much more Catholic-friendly place, but no, she picked the deep South. Now EWTN is a pilgrimage site for Catholics and pretty much the center of the renewal of the Church here in the states. Pretty amazing! God is allowing you to suffer over this for a reason, and I don’t think I need to remind you that God’s reasons are always good. Now I am not saying you need to go out and start a televison network, but perhaps you are part of God’s plan for his Church in the south some how, some way.

BTW, have you heard of the Ave Maria community being built in Florida? avemaria.com/. I am not sure where that is in location to you. It is being funded by the man who founded Domino’s and it is Catholic community. Last I heard, they were even fighting legally to keep contraceptive sales out of their community, so these people really mean it when they say they are forming a Catholic community of families.
 
First line meant to say wintery mix…not winery mix, though that might be interesting. Edit time has passed already too, grr.

*We have wineries here in Florida. lol A winery could come in handy during a wintery mix. :hmmm: :rotfl:

Ugh, I remember those weather reports now, it’s aaaaallll coming back…I don’t miss the wintery mixes, but believe it or not, constant everyday sun, can get boring. :o*
 
*Well, dh, the kids and I did our pros and cons list tonight…here were the ‘‘scores:’’

Pittsburgh got an overall score (pros subtracting the cons) = 151
Florida ‘’ ‘’ ‘’ ‘’ = 117

Not as wide of a disparity as I would have thought, so maybe we like Florida more than we think. :o

That said, have much praying to do. My husband/my therapist;), had a long talk with me tonight. He was amazing. I love him so dearly. He calmed me and said that probably what I’m feeling is that moving here cost us all a lot of sacrificing…he admitted to us tonight how much he misses his mom, and some of his long term friends. And the sacrifice would have been worth it, had there been more growth within my dept for me. That was what I was promised, it started off great, but it’s been eh. So, to move 1000 miles for an ‘‘eh’’ kind of improvement…I dunno. He put in perspective what I have been trying to put into words.

He said though, sometimes growth isn’t measured in dollars and cents. Sometimes, it’s measured in how we grow in holiness…how we grow out of our comfort zones…the kids, he and I all grew closer to Christ…in trusting Him, and in realizing what matters most. He also said that if we do move back, it wasn’t that we failed here, it is more that we grew here. How awesome of an insight, that was.

I told him he should charge for his services. 😃

Thanks for listening, everyone…I dunno, but we are leaning towards moving back. He said let’s pray about it for a while before making a serious decision. *

I meant to add Mia, thank you for this link, I plan to check it out. I am familiar with it, but don’t know much about it, really…in detail. Thanks again. 🙂

Personally, I’ve been leaning towards having you move back to Pittsburgh ever since I first heard of your predicament. Of course, I was born right outside of Pittsburgh, so maybe I’m a tiny bit biased.

Even though I was raised in the Buffalo, NY area and now live in Northeast Ohio … As for teams, I would have to say:

GO BILLS !!!

(Okay, now how mixed up is that ?!?) 😛
