Well let me say my conversion came at my sevond Baptism. Sorry if it causes you a problem, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. thank you
You sure get picked on, what have you done to cause such agitation? I’ll bet you are sweet as pie and can bake a good one to; you are about the same age as my own mother whom loves the Lord.

Yes, He did.

However, He also said:

John 5:14
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.

We have been made well/saved through baptism. We must sin no more or else we will be worse off than if we had never been saved in the first place.

2 Peter 2:20-21
For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

Sinned. Saved. Sinned. Salvation lost. Now worse off than before we were first saved.
What gospel is that? Sounds more like the “not so good “good news””. I would hate to think my Savior would ever forsake me; i didn’t deserve to be in His presence when He rescued me from sin and He knows when He rescued me I would still sin, albeit much less, but He knew what He bought and paid for with His life, so if He can save me in His death how much more can He keep me in His life?

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

Looking backwards in context to these ealier words where he wrote:

For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

And those words are looking back into ealier words where he wrote:

If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

Again, Paul knows that he is running a race like an athelete, the race he is running is preaching the Gospel and harvesting souls for Christ. The prize is an incorruptible crown in heaven similair to the Jesus’s challenge to “lay up your treasures in heaven”. Knowing that he was called to preach the gospel and the rewards from it are in heaven, he becomes a servant to all men, beats his body into subjection, put’s himself under all men, like when Jesus washed the feet of the disciples, so that the gospel isn’t hindered and he’s then not disqualified to win the prize. It is not about loosing one’s salvation, rather it’s about running the race!
You can’t win the prize until the race is finished and you also must come in first in order to win the prize. If you stumble and fall and break your ankle during the race, then you are automatically disqualified from the race and so then there is absolutely no possibility for you to win the prize.

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

Well the big reason is that I donot always agree with Church doctrine. I am Catholic. I was a cradle Catholic, and half nothing. Also I had a real true conversion at age #8 and was rebaptised so that adds to my being picked on. But I consider it a Blessing, cause if I wasn’t right with God I wouldn’t be picked so most of it goes in one ear and out the other except when I get angry and that is not a good thing for me.

Well thank you my hubby and family and church fam thinks I am sweet and I can bake a killer lemon pie. God Bless

One thing I know for sure is if the righteous son was in charge over his Fathers house there never would have been a feast when the Father came home his lost brother.
Fortunately, God is our judge. He is just and judges us according to our deeds. He forgives us and restores us only if we repent.

Romans 2:5-7
But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: 7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; 10 but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Luke 15:11-23
Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.

The father ran to meet him when he saw his son coming back to him. The son confessed. The Son is forgiven. The relationship is restored.

I am saying like rocket has said that** my baptism as a babe meant nothing to me** until I accepted Christ when I was 38. My real baptism was then. Maybe yours was when you were a babe. Maybe maybe key word
And you teach RCIA???

I hope you teach your RCIA students what you are telling us.
It sounds like you really don’t understand what grace is. The grace that comes with the sacraments. You DID receive grace when you were baptized and confirmed, even if you don’t think so. That’s a fact. You did not respond to that grace until you were 38.

"No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit." 1 Cor. 12:12

Since you are a teacher of Catholicism, do you actually teach what the Church teaches, or do you teach your own heresy?

There have been many and many of converts who have never been baptized as an infant that have claimed the same as we. So I don’t know if you can p(name removed by moderator)oint the results of our conversions back to the infant baptism.
***No one can come to Me unless the Father draw him. ***
Was it all your doing, or was it God’s Holy Spirit that brought you to him?

No it doesn’t cause me a problem, As Catholic teaching I just wouldn’t call what you had experienced a second Baptism. More like a renewing by the Holy Spirit as your relationship with God was restored after living a life filled with sin. I have heard about powerfully felt conversions. And I am sure God provides us with exactley what it takes to bring us back. You know, like for some it is a 2by4, others its the "hound of heaven " for years and years before they reach out and grab a hold of that grace that saves us, still others it could be just a gentle kick or knudge, Thank God for his saving grace and the means by which it happens.Carlan

I was a protestant for 20 yrs. I didn’t believe my first baptism “took” so I got rebaptized.
The Christian creed (The Apostles Creed) states "We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sin."

It was the Holy Spirit, just as many other converts whom have not recieved infant baptism.
RocketMan,
do you read the links we give you, and read ourselves before posting?
If not, what is the point of being here?

Well for me it was a 2 by 4 sorry you wern’t there so my dear lady you have no idea what I experienced. Try it you might like it. Since you have not walked in my shoes you do not know what I felt or experienced

That’s what I thought. 🤷

"Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly."
James 3:1

Dear brothers and sisters not many should become judges of ones faith or if that person knows what Grace is. Why oh why do I need to read what grace is when I already know/🤷

You know, as a protestant believer, I bet Catholic teaching on grace, salvation, justification, and free will would really rock your socks. I don’t think I would have had any problem with it during my protestant days.

It is really quite theologically rich.
vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s1c3a2.htm
*"Justification is the most excellent work of God’s love made manifest in Christ Jesus and granted by the Holy Spirit. It is the opinion of St. Augustine that “the justification of the wicked is a greater work than the creation of heaven and earth,” because “heaven and earth will pass away but the salvation and justification of the elect . . . will not pass away.” He holds also that the justification of sinners surpasses the creation of the angels in justice, in that it bears witness to a greater mercy. *

Yep and I am not judging you for it either.
Well any catechist of the Church should have. Makes me angry that my catechesis growing up was so poor. In the words of Jane Austen, ***“Badly done.” ***
